Knut Andersen (film Director)
Knut Andersen (9 May 1931 – 17 June 2019) was a Norwegian film director. He was born in Harstad Municipality, Harstad. He directed a series of films, including ''Sus og dus på by'n'' (1968), ''Ballad of the Masterthief Ole Hoiland'' (1970), ''Marikens bryllup'' (1972), ''Under en steinhimmel, Under a Stone Sky'' (1974), ''Karjolsteinen'' (1977), and ''Den sommeren jeg fylte 15'' (1975). He received the Amanda Award, Amanda Committee's Honorary Award in 2007. Harstad Municipality
Harstad (; ) is the second-most populated municipality in Troms county, Norway. It is mostly located on the large island of Hinnøya. The municipal center is the Harstad (town), town of Harstad, which is the most populous town in Central Hålogaland and the third-largest in all of Northern Norway. The town was incorporated in 1904. Villages in the municipality include Elgsnes, Fauskevåg, Gausvika, Grøtavær, Kasfjord, Lundenes, Nergården and Sørvika. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957. His paper ''Omkring Bǫglungasǫgur'', on the Bagler sagas, was printed in 1959. In December 1957 he married Karen Blauuw, who would later become a professor. Amanda Award
The Amanda Award () is an award given annually at the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund, Norway, to promote and improve Norwegian film. The award originated in 1985, and has since 2005 been exclusively a film award (not television). Winners are awarded a trophy by the Norwegian sculptor Kristian Kvakland, and the name—and theme—of the sculpture comes from a legendary local woman from the 1920s. The award ceremony is marked every year by a major, nationally televised event. History The Amanda Award was instituted in 1985 as part of the Norwegian International Film Festival "to increase the quality of and further the interest for Norwegian films". ''Karjolsteinen'' (The Carriage Stone) is a Norwegian drama film from 1977. The film was directed by Knut Andersen based on a novel by Sigbjørn Hølmebakk with the same name. Plot The radical author Olav Klungeland feels divided and inadequate both as a writer, as a politician, and as a fellow human being. He gradually becomes more acquainted with a former priest, Eilif Grøtteland, who comes from a small place in the southwest and lives in a hotel in Oslo at the same time as his wife is in the hospital, sick with cancer.
