Hans Hartvig Seedorff
Hans Hartvig Otto Seedorff Pedersen eller Hans Hartvig Seedorff (12 August 1892 in Aarhus – 19 January 1986 in Frederiksberg) was a Danish lyricist and poet. Seedorff debuted with ''Hyben'' in 1918 and over the following 7 decades he wrote songs, screenplays and books. He received numerous awards including Ingenio et Arti (1933), the Order of the Dannebrog (1947) and the Holberg Medal (1950). Seedorff attended the Aarhus Cathedral School and later Marselisborg Gymnasium from which he graduated in 1911. In 1912 he got a degree in philosophy after which he worked as a journalist until he started his writing career in 1916. In 1917 he traveled to Russia as an official diplomat and this became the first of many lengthy trips around the world in the 1920s, making him one of the most traveled Danish writers. ''Den Store Danske Encyklopædi'' () is the most comprehensive contemporary Danish language encyclopedia. The 20 volumes of the encyclopedia were published successively between 1994 and 2001; a one-volume supplement was published in 2002 and two index volumes in 2003. Steen Steensen Blicher
Steen Steensen Blicher (11 October 1782, Vium – 26 March 1848 in Spentrup) was an author and poet born in Vium near Viborg, Denmark, Viborg, Denmark. Biography Blicher was the son of a literarily inclined Jutlandic parson whose family was distantly related to Martin Luther. He grew up in close contact with nature and peasant life in the moor areas of central Jutland. After trying his hand as a teacher and a tenant farmer, he at last became a parson like his father and from 1825-1847 served in the parish of Spentrup. As a clergyman, Blicher is said to have been less than inspired. His main interests were hunting and writing. In 1842, he was accused of alcoholism and abandoned from a Cooperation of Danish writers. Many struggles with his superiors the following years led to his dismissal shortly before his death.
