"Knuckle Sandwich Nancy" is a song by English rock band Slade, released by Cheapskate on 15 May 1981 as the lead single from their tenth studio album, '' Till Deaf Do Us Part''. The song was written by band members Noddy Holder and Jim Lea, and was produced by Slade. "Knuckle Sandwich Nancy" failed to enter the UK Singles Chart, but did reach number 101 in the '' Record Business'' Bubbling Under Singles chart. Background Speaking to '' The New Standard'' in 1981, lead vocalist Noddy Holder revealed of the song's lyrics, "It's about a bird we used to know years ago whose answer to everything was to knock fellows about. She used to ask guys for a drink and when they wouldn't buy her one she would pounce on them. She was a real character." Don Powell
Donald George Powell (born 10 September 1946) is an English musician who was the drummer for glam rock and later hard rock group Slade for over fifty years, from 1966 until he was dismissed by Dave Hill in 2020. Early life Powell was born in Bilston in 1946. His parents were Walter and Dora Powell. Wally was a steelworker, and Dora made electrical components. He has three siblings, a brother and two sisters. He attended Villiers Road Primary School from 1950 to 1957 and started to play drums for the Boy Scouts in 1958. He then attended Etheridge Secondary Modern School for Boys from 1957 to 1962, and studied metallurgy at Wednesbury Technical College in 1962. Career He joined The Vendors in 1964, who later that year changed their name to The 'N Betweens, then to Ambrose Slade in 1969, and a few months later on 24 October 1969, shorten to Slade. Dave Hill (guitarist)
David John Hill (born 4 April 1946) is an English rock musician. He is the lead guitarist, a backing vocalist and the sole continuous member in the English band Slade. Hill is known for his flamboyant stage clothes and hairstyle. Early life Born in Flete House, Holbeton, Devon, the son of a mechanic, he moved with his parents to Penn, West Midlands, Penn, Wolverhampton, when he was a year old. He attended the city's Springdale Junior School and Highfields School, Wolverhampton, Highfields Secondary school. He bought his first guitar from a mail-order catalogue and received some guitar lessons from a science teacher at his school. He then formed a band called The Young Ones with some school friends. He worked in an office for Tarmac Limited for over two years after leaving school. Carlos Alberto "Lole" Reutemann (12 April 1942 – 7 July 2021) was an Argentine racing driver and politician, who competed in Formula One from to and served as the Governor of Santa Fe from 1999 to 2003.
