Klivazh
Klivazh is the site of an underground peaceful nuclear explosion in the Soviet program of Nuclear Explosions for the National Economy. The event took place in the Donetsk oblast of the Ukrainian SSR on September 16, 1979. The site flooded with underground waters in 2018 after Russian military occupation during Russo-Ukrainian War, with a risk of radiological pollution of drinking water in the area. Yunkom Coal Mine
Yunkom coal mine (), officially named the Yuny Kommunar Mine, was a coal mine in the town of Bunhe in eastern Ukraine. The mine first opened in 1912, and was closed in 2018. History This mine was first put into operation in 1912. In 1914, a jackhammer was used here for the first time. Nuclear explosion In 1979, Soviet authorities conducted a peaceful nuclear explosion underground at the "Klivazh" site within the Yunkom mine. This was done to prevent frequent coal and rock releases, and was conducted below the surface. Decline Production significantly plummeted during the 1990s, shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union. In 1990, the mine's production was at around 1446 t/day, which was at about 330 by 1999. Yenakiieve (, ; ) is a city and the nominal administrative center of Yenakiieve urban hromada in the Horlivka Raion, Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine. The city stands on the Krynka River about from the oblast's administrative center, Donetsk. Its population is approximately Yenakiieve is an important regional centre of coal mining, metallurgy, chemical industry, chemical production and manufacturing. Bunhe
Bunhe () or Bunge (; ), also known as Yunokomunarivsk (; ), is a city in Yenakiieve urban hromada, Horlivka Raion, Donetsk Oblast (oblast, province) of Ukraine. Population: , , 17,813 (2001). Geography Bunge is located near the Yenakiieve railway station on the (tributary of Krynka (river), Krynka, Mius Basin). The surface is wavy, dissected by ravines and gullies. The elevation is up to 200 meters. History It was founded in 1908 when the Russian-Belgium Metallurgical Association founded Bunge mine to supply coal to Petrovskiy steelworks (now Yenakiieve Iron and Steel Works). Azov Sea
