Klaus Sahlgren
Klaus Aksel Sahlgren (11 August 1928, in Helsinki – 5 July 2019, in Korpo) was a Finnish diplomat, and a Bachelor of Political Sciences. He served as Deputy Director General for Trade Policy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs 1969–1970, Permanent Representative of Finland to Geneva, United Nations International Organizations 1970–1975, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations 1975–1983, and Secretary-General of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe 1983–1986.''Facta 2001'', Täydennysosa 1990, p. 421. Korpo
Korpo (; fi, Korppoo ) is an island located in the Turku archipelago. It is a former municipality of Finland. On 1 January 2009, it was consolidated with Houtskär, Iniö, Nagu and Pargas to form the new town of Väståboland. As of 1 January 2012 Väståboland was renamed Pargas (Parainen in Finnish), which is also the name of a town on one of the islands, which has proven somewhat confusing for tourists and visitors to the area. The climate in Korpo is somewhat different from the mainland's climate. It typically has cooler summers than the mainland, but the winters are also less harsh. The archipelago as a whole is considered to have the shortest winter in Finland. Korpo is a favourite tourist destination in Finland and it is home to many summer cottages. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA) is a ministry in the Finnish Government and is responsible for preparing and implementing the government's foreign policy.
