Klampenborg Racecourse
Klampenborg Racecourse (Danish: Klampenborg Galopbane) is a flat horse racing track in Klampenborg in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. History The first organized horse races in Denmark were held in Copenhagen in 1770 at the initiative of the British born queen Caroline Mathilde. Regular horse races took places at Copenahgen's Nørre Fælled from the 1820s. The races were moved to the Hermitage Plain in Jægersborg Dyrehave in 1870. The first race there took place on 15 June. Klampenborg Racetracks (then Klampenborg Væddeløbsbane) was inaugurated in 1910. It was owned by the Association for the Promotion of the Noble Horse Breeding (Foreningen til den Ædle Hesteavls Fremme). Klampenborg Galopbane Entrance
Klampenborg is a northern suburb to Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located in Gentofte Municipality, directly on Øresund, between Taarbæk and Skovshoved. Like other neighbourhoods along the Øresund coast, Klampenborg is an affluent area with many large houses. Landmarks Klampenborg is known for a cluster of building projects by the Functionalist Danish architect Arne Jacobsen. These include Bellevue Beach, the Bellavista housing estate and the Bellevue Theatre, all completed between 1932–36 as some of the earliest Danish examples of Modernism. Klampenborg is the main gateway to the extensive Jægersborg Deer Park, one of the most popular green areas in greater Copenhagen, known for its large deer population, the Hermitage Royal Hunting Lodge and ancient oak trees. Dissing + Weitling
Dissing+Weitling is an architecture and design practice in Copenhagen, Denmark. The founders and namesakes Hans Dissing and Otto Weitling founded the firm upon the death of Arne Jacobsen as a continuation of his office where both had been key employees. Dissing+Weitling is particularly notable for the design of a great number of bridges around the world, ranging from small pedestrian and bicycle bridges to some of the longest bridges in the world, including the Danish Great Belt and Øresund Bridges. History Hans Dissing and Otto Weitling were key employees at Arne Jacobsen's office and they founded Dissing+Weitling in 1971 upon his death to continue and complete his unfinished projects. Jægersborg Dyrehave
Dyrehaven ( Danish 'The Deer Park'), officially Jægersborg Dyrehave, is a forest park north of Copenhagen. It covers around . Dyrehaven is noted for its mixture of huge, ancient oak trees and large populations of red and fallow deer. In July 2015, it was one of the three forests included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site inscribed as Par force hunting landscape in North Zealand. All entrances to the park have a characteristic red gate; one of the most popular entrances is Klampenborg gate, close to Klampenborg station. All the entrance gates have an identical gate house attached to them, which serve as the residences of the forest wardens.
