Kjell Vidars
Kjell Vidars was a Norwegian band who recorded from the 1970s to the 1990s. Their recordings were released on the Nett, Snowflake, Troll and Mariann record labels. Background Kjell Vidars came about by chance. It was around 1969 when they were formed. Kjell Karlsen's band was supposed to play at an event in Granvang that was to do with the Vestre Gran Sports Association. However they pulled out. So, with the organizers not having musical entertainment, Arne Støen from Vestre Gran had the task to put together a band. He got Ole Vidar Lien to come in, and also Kjell Bjørklund was brought in. Arne Støen said that that they had to come up with name and his name sounded so bad that it couldn't be used. According to Ole Vidar Lien in a ''Hadeland'' article, with only a short period of time left to put it in the paper for an advertisement, the name Kjell Vidars was used. During the band's career, they recorded songs such as " Puff, den lille dragen", "Veien hjem til Hadeland", "Sk ...

Puff, The Magic Dragon
"Puff, the Magic Dragon" (or just "Puff") is an American folk song written by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary from a poem by Leonard Lipton. It was made popular by Peter, Paul and Mary in a 1962 recording released in January 1963. Lipton wrote a poem about a dragon in 1959, and, when Yarrow found it, he wrote the lyrics to "Puff" based on the poem. After the song was released, Yarrow searched for Lipton to give him credit for the song. Lyrics The lyrics for "Puff, the Magic Dragon" are based on a 1959 poem by Leonard Lipton, then a 19-year-old Cornell University student. Lipton drew inspiration from Ogden Nash's poem " The Tale of Custard the Dragon". The song tells the story of an immortal dragon named Puff and his playmate, Jackie Paper, as they embark on adventures in the fictional county of Honalee. As time passes, Jackie matures and abandons his childhood games, leaving Puff sad and alone. Lipton, who was acquainted with Peter Yarrow through a mutual friend at ...

Skateboard (song)
"Stakeboard" aka "Skateboard (Uh Ah Ah)" is song that became a 1977 single for German group Copains and a single for singer Benny Schnier. Both versions made the charts that year. It has been covered by a multitude of artists since the original release. The song had a resurgence of interest the mid-2000s. Overview The song Skateboard was written by Hans-Ulrich Weigel, Frank Farian, Stefan Klinkhammer, and Roland Kaiser. Along with " Amigo Charlie Brown" and "Bin wieder frei", "Skateboard" brought Frank Farian considerable success. With the kids riding around on skateboards and being noticed by Roland Kaiser and Frank Farian, an idea for a song came about. It was Kaiser who suggested to Farian that a song should be made about the sport. The idea appealed to Farian and with Kaiser, Fred Jay and Hans-Ulrich Weigel, Farian composed Skateboard. It took some time for the song to catch on, but it became a success when it did. When Benny's version became a hit, it became more popular t ...

At the time of its acquisition by Universal Music in 2012, it was the fourth largest business group and record label conglomerate in the music industry, and was one of the "Big Four" record companies (now the " Big Three"). Troll (Norwegian Record Label) Artists
A troll is a being in Nordic folklore, including Norse mythology. In Old Norse sources, beings described as trolls dwell in isolated areas of rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings. In later Scandinavian folklore, trolls became beings in their own right, where they live far from human habitation, are not Christianized, and are considered dangerous to human beings. Depending on the source, their appearance varies greatly; trolls may be ugly and slow-witted, or look and behave exactly like human beings, with no particularly grotesque characteristic about them. In Scandinavian folklore, trolls are sometimes associated with particular landmarks (sometimes said to have been formed by a troll having been exposed to sunlight). Trolls are depicted in a variety of media in modern popular culture. Etymology The Old Norse nouns ''troll'' and ''trǫll'' (variously meaning "fiend, demon, werewolf, jötunn") and Middle High ...
