Kjell Bjartveit
Odd Kjell Bjartveit (14 August 1927 – 22 February 2011) was a Norwegian physician and politician for the Christian Democratic Party. He was born in Flekkefjord, took the cand.med. degree at the University of Oslo in 1951, and the dr.med. degree in 1983. He worked as a chief physician in the Norwegian Mass Radiography Service/National Health Screening Service, a now-defunct organ, from 1968 to 1997. From 1972 to 1973 he was a member of Korvald's Cabinet as a State Secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He chaired the National Council on Smoking and Health from 1971, and Oslo Inner Mission from 1971 to 1981. Christian Democratic Party (Norway)
The Christian Democratic Party (, , , KrF; ) is a Christian-democratic political party in Norway founded in 1933. The party is an observer member of the European People's Party (EPP). It currently holds three seats in the Parliament, having won 3.8% of the vote in the 2021 parliamentary election. The current leader of the party is Dag Inge Ulstein. The Christian Democrats' leader from 1983 to 1995, Kjell Magne Bondevik, was one of the most prominent political figures in modern Norway, serving as Prime Minister from 1997 to 2000 and 2001 to 2005. Under the old leadership of Bondevik and Valgerd Svarstad Haugland, the party to some extent moved in a more liberal direction. Eleonore Bjartveit
Eleonore Bjartveit (11 July 1924 – 26 September 2002) was a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party. Born in Alta, she worked as a medical doctor for several years, before entering politics. Bjartveit was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Oslo in 1989, serving until 1993. She had previously been a deputy representative from 1981–1989, as well as Minister of Culture and Science in 1989, and Minister of Culture and Church Affairs in 1990.
