Kiss The Rain
"Kiss the Rain" is a song by British singer-songwriter Billie Myers, from her debut album, '' Growing, Pains'' (1997). Produced by Desmond Child, the song was released on 23 September 1997 as the lead single from the album by Universal Records. Myers co-wrote it with Child and Eric Bazilian, and also recorded a Spanish version titled "Besa la lluvia (Piensa en mí)" ("Kiss the Rain (Think of Me)"). The song charted at number four on the UK Singles Chart and became an international hit, reaching number two in Canada and number 15 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. There are two different versions of the music video for the song. Background Desmond Child, who produced the album, got the idea for the title after hearing the Bush song "Glycerine". Child misheard the title as "Kiss the Rain". When he was told the correct title, he decided to use "Kiss the Rain" for a future song. Billie Myers (born 14 June 1971) is a British rock singer and songwriter from Coventry, England. She is known principally for her 1997 transatlantic hit " Kiss the Rain". Biography Myers received a Brit Award nomination in 1999 for Best British Female Solo Artist, alongside Billie Piper, but neither won. She has been outspoken about her bisexuality and how "not being gay enough" had caused her difficulties in the past. Myers has also spoken out publicly numerous times about living with depression. As well as being an ambassador for the Jed Foundation, Myers supports The Mindfull Initiative which aims to support young people dealing with mental health issues. The Dutch Top 40 () is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore radio, offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Willem van Kooten, Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged.
