Kishan Lal
Kishan Lal (2 February 1917 – 23 June 1980) was an Indian people, Indian field hockey player. He captained the India men's national field hockey team, Indian hockey team at the Field hockey at the 1948 Summer Olympics, 1948 Summer Olympics to gold, winning independent India's first gold medal by defeating Great Britain men's national field hockey team, Great Britain 4-0 in the final. Early life Born in Mhow in 1917, Lal started playing hockey at the age of 14. In 1933, he represented Mhow Heroes and Mhow Green Walls and played for Kalyanmal Mills, Indore. In 1937, he joined the Bhagwant Club of Tikamgarh. Career He was selected for the Indian hockey team for the eventually canceled 1940 Summer Olympics. In 1941, he joined Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway (BB&CI). He played for Central India in the Senior National Hockey Championship. Mhow
Mhow, officially Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, is a town in the Indore district in Madhya Pradesh state of India. It is located south-west of Indore city, towards Mumbai on the old -Agra Mumbai Road. Tikamgarh
Tikamgarh (also spelled as Tikamgadh)is a town and a tehsil in Tikamgarh district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The city serves as a district headquarters. The earlier name of Tikamgarh was Tehri (i.e., a triangle) consisting of three hamlets, forming a rough triangle. In Tikamgarh town there is locality still known as 'Purani Tehri' (Old Tehri). Until Indian independence in 1947, Tikamgarh, formerly called Tehri, was part of the kingdom of Orchha, which was founded in the 16th century by the Bundeli chief Rudra Pratap Singh, who became the first King of Orchha. Railways Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) (originally known as Railways Sports Control Board) is a sports board run by the Indian Railways. Kantilal Girdharilal Vora (10 April 1924 – 23 September 2012), popularly known as K. Lal, was an Indian magician. Biography K. Lal was born on 10 April 1924 in Bagasara (now in Amreli district, Gujarat, India) in a jain family of Girdharlal Vora and Muliben. His uncle Lalchandbhai had a Khadi clothes shop in Calcutta who had entrusted it to his father when he joined Indian independence movement. The shop was burned down in riots so K. Lal had to work as a hawker. He rebuilt their clothes shop later and worked there K. Chhotalal Co. He started his career as a magician in 1950 from Calcutta. His first show was held at Roxy Cinema in Calcutta. He was popular for his innovative tricks. He had evolved his tricks with technology. He used to spread social messages and moral lessons through his tricks. The Senior National Hockey Championship is a state-level national field hockey competition contested by the state associations and government institutions under Hockey India, the sport's governing body in India. It was first held in 1928 under the aegis of Indian Hockey Federation (IHF), the former Indian field hockey federation and was also known as Rangaswamy Cup. Since 2011, it has been organised by Hockey India under the name of Hockey India Senior National Championship.
