Kirkconnell Correctional Centre
Kirkconnell Correctional Centre, an Australian minimum security prison for males, is located east of Bathurst, New South Wales. The Centre is located in the Sunny Corner State Forest and has a fully trained bushfire fighting team comprising both prison staff and inmates. It was declared a prison under the name "Kirkconnell Afforestation Camp" on 26 November 1958. In September 2011 it was reported that Corrective Services NSW will close the facility in December 2011, as a cost saving measure. All of inmates were relocated to the minimum security wings at Bathurst Correctional Centre and Long Bay. The facility was reopened on 30 July 2015, after a 4 million dollar upgrade. Sunny Corner is a small village in the Central West (New South Wales), central west of New South Wales, Australia and former mining area located between Lithgow, New South Wales, Lithgow and Bathurst, New South Wales, Bathurst just north of the Great Western Highway (Route 32). Corrective Services New South Wales (CSNSW) is a division of the Department of Communities and Justice of the Government of New South Wales, Australia. CSNSW is responsible for the state's prisons and a range of programs for managing offenders in the community. The state has 36 prisons, 33 run by CSNSW and three privately operated. Bathurst Correctional Centre, originally built as Bathurst Gaol in 1888, is a prison for men and women located in the city of Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, and operated by the Department of Communities and Justice. Bathurst holds inmates sentenced under State or Australian criminal law, along with a small number of remand prisoners. The prison is made up of three sections: a medium-security and remand facility for male inmates, a minimum-security facility for male inmates, and a new maximum-security facility for male inmates, due to open in 2020. Rodney Adler
Rodney Stephen Adler (born 19 August 1959) is an Australian whose family founded the FAI Insurances group, of which he became chief executive in 1989, and which was at one stage Australia's third largest general insurer. Adler became a director of HIH Insurance after the acquisition of that company, and resigned in January 2001, two months before HIH collapsed. Roger Caleb Rogerson (born 3 January 1941) is a former detective sergeant of the New South Wales Police Force, and a convicted murderer. During Rogerson's career, he was one of the most decorated officers in the police force, having received at least thirteen awards for bravery, outstanding policemanship and devotion to duty including the Peter Mitchell Trophy, the highest annual police award. During his time in office he was implicated in—but never convicted of—two killings, bribery, assault and drug dealing. Paul Luckman
On 4 May 1982, Australian Army personnel Robin Reid and Nicole Louise Pearce (birth name Paul Wayne Luckman) kidnapped teenage boys Peter Aston and Terry Ryan on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Reid and Pearce then drove the boys at gun and knife point to Kingscliff, New South Wales, where they were beaten, tortured, and sexually assaulted before Aston was ultimately murdered. Kidnapping and murder Peter Aston and Terry Ryan were hitchhiking on the Gold Coast Highway and were picked up by Reid and Pearce, who offered to give the boys a lift down the coast. Not long on the road, the two boys were threatened at knife and gunpoint by the two perpetrators, who then drove the car over the Queensland/New South Wales border, into the beach-side town of Kingscliff, where they forced the two boys out of the car and down a secluded beach track.
