Kinwaqucha (Ayacucho)
Kinwaqucha (Quechua ''kinwa'' quinoa, ''qucha'' lake, "quinoa lake", also spelled ''Ccuenhua Cocha, Cuenhuacocha'') is a lake in Peru located in the Ayacucho Region Ayacucho (), known as Huamanga from its creation in 1822 until 1825, is a department and region of Peru, located in the south-central Andes of the country. Ayacucho Region
Ayacucho (), known as Huamanga from its creation in 1822 until 1825, is a department and region of Peru, located in the south-central Andes of the country. Its capital is the city of Ayacucho. The region was one of the hardest hit in the 1980s during the guerrilla war waged by Shining Path known as the internal conflict in Peru. A referendum was held on 30 October 2005, in order to decide whether the department would merge with the departments of Ica and Huancavelica to form the new Ica-Ayacucho-Huancavelica Region, as part of the decentralization process in Peru. The proposal failed and no merger was carried out. Quechua Language
Quechua (, ), also called (, 'people's language') in Southern Quechua, is an Indigenous languages of the Americas, indigenous language family that originated in central Peru and thereafter spread to other countries of the Andes. Quinoa
Quinoa (''Chenopodium quinoa''; , from Quechuan languages, Quechua ' or ') is a flowering plant in the Amaranthaceae, amaranth family. It is a herbaceous annual plant grown as a crop primarily for its edible seeds; the seeds are high in protein, dietary fiber, B vitamins and mineral (nutrient), dietary minerals especially potassium and magnesium in amounts greater than in many grains. Quinoa is not a Poaceae, grass but rather a pseudocereal botany, botanically related to spinach and amaranth (''Amaranthus'' spp.), and originated in the Andes, Andean region of northwestern South America.
