Kinnari (typeface)
The National Fonts (; ) are 2 sets of free and open-source computer fonts for the Thai script sponsored by the Thai government. In 2001, the first set of fonts was released by NECTEC. The 3 Thai typefaces in the set; Kinnari, Garuda and Norasi; were intended to be public alternatives to the widely used commercial typefaces. Later on, Thai Linux Working Group (TLWG) released these 3 typefaces alongside 10 others as software package. In 2006, a computer font competition was held. 13 of these typefaces won the competition and later got adopted by the Government of Thailand as public and official fonts. Later in 2021, another typeface, #Chulabhorn Likhit, Chulabhorn Likhit was selected as the 14th typeface in the set. Thus, the set has gained the nickname of fourteen National Fonts. Abhisit Vejjajiva (; , , ; born 3 August 1964) is a Thai politician who was the 27th prime minister of Thailand from 2008 to 2011. He was the leader of the Democrat Party from 2005 until he resigned following the party's weak performance in the 2019 election. As leader of the second largest party in the House of Representatives, he was also leader of the opposition – a position he held from 2005 to 2008 and again after his premiership until his party's en masse resignation from the House on 8 December 2013. The Thai Wikipedia () is the Thai language edition of Wikipedia. It was started on 25 December 2003. As of , it has articles and registered users. As of March 2022, Wikipedia (all languages combined) was ranked 14th in Alexa's Top Sites Thailand. As of January 2021, the Thai Wikipedia is the most visited Wikipedia in both Thailand and Laos. In Laos the position of the most popular language version of Wikipedia alternates between English and Thai. On 31 January 2006, the Thai Wikipedia was first recognized along with English Wikipedia in the Thai press. In 2007, a thesis, ''Thai Wikipedia and Communicating Knowledge to the Public'', was published by a graduate student from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University. Silpakorn University
Silpakorn University (SU.) (; ) is a national university in Thailand. The university was founded in Bangkok in 1943 by Tuscan–born art professor Corrado Feroci, who took the Thai name Silpa Bhirasri when he became a Thai citizen. It began as a fine arts university and now includes many other faculties as well. In 2016, it has 25,210 students. History Silpakorn University was originally established as the School of Fine Arts under Thailand's Fine Arts Department in 1933. The school offered the only painting and sculpture programs and waived tuition fees for government officials and students. Its creation owes much to the almost lifetime devotion of Professor Silpa Bhirasri, an Italian sculptor (formerly Corrado Feroci) who was commissioned during the reign of King Rama VI to work in the Fine Arts Department. Chulabhorn (; ; ; born 4 July 1957) is a Thai princess. She is the youngest daughter of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, and the younger sister of King Vajiralongkorn. She is officially styled Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn, which corresponds to her full Thai title Somdet Phrachao Nong Nang Thoe Chaofa Chulabhorn Walailak Agrarajakumari (). The SIL Open Font License (or OFL in short) is one of the major open font licenses, which allows embedding, or "bundling", of the font in commercially sold products. OFL is a free and open source license. It was created by SIL Global, the organization behind ''Ethnologue.'' History The Open Font License was created by SIL Global employees Victor Gaultney and Nicolas Spalinger. Gaultney had previously designed the Gentium font and was unsatisfied with existing font licenses.
