Kingsbridge is a market town in the South Hams district of Devon, England, with a population of 6,116 at the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2011 census. Two electoral wards bear the name of ''Kingsbridge'' (East & North). Their combined population at the above census was 4,381. It is situated at the northern end of the Kingsbridge Estuary, a ria that extends to the sea south of the town. It is the third largest settlement in the South Hams and is southwest of Torquay and southeast of Plymouth. Heuston Station, ( ; ; formerly Kingsbridge Station) also known as Dublin Heuston, is one of Dublin's largest railway stations and links the capital with the south, southwest and west of Ireland. It is operated by Iarnród Éireann (IÉ), the national railway operator. It also houses the head office of its parent company, Córas Iompair Éireann (CIÉ). King's Bridge (Launceston)
King's Bridge is a wrought-iron bridge crossing the South Esk River at the mouth of the Cataract Gorge in Launceston, Tasmania. Construction of the bridge began in 1864. The bridge span was constructed in Manchester, England and was transported to Launceston for final assembly. At the time it was named the Cataract or South Esk Bridge and it was the only form of vehicular crossing of that river in Launceston. In 1904, a second, parallel span was added to widen the bridge. This span was almost identical to the original span, but was fabricated locally in Launceston, instead of overseas. Kingsbridge Wind Power Project
Kingsbridge Wind Power Project, also referred to as Kingsbridge 1 Wind facility , refers to a large wind farm owned and operated by Capital Power Corporation. Kingsbridge 1 Wind facility is located between Goderich and Kincardine, Ontario. The Kingsbridge 1 Wind facility is located on the southeast shore of Lake Huron in the township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh and consists of 22 1.8 MW Vestas V80 wind turbines with a capacity of 39.6 MW. Each tower is over 78 meters tall and weigh around 195 metric tonnes. The project consists of two phases and currently provides power to on average 12,500 homes. In 2004, the first phase was awarded a generation contract by the Government of Ontario as part of its renewable energy RFP. Kingsbridge, Ontario
Kingsbridge, Ontario is a small rural community in southwestern Ontario within the municipality of Ashfield–Colborne–Wawanosh in Huron County. It is approximately 22 kilometres north of Goderich on the Bluewater Highway where it intersects with Kingsbridge Line. The area around Kingsbridge was settled in 1839 by Irish immigrants from County Kerry, Ireland. During the 1840s and 1850s many more Irish families, mostly from Kerry, although some from Counties Clare, Cork, and Tipperary, settled in the vicinity. Kingsbridge was named for John King, who constructed a bridge in the area in the 1850s. The community's primary landmarks include St. Joseph's Church, an elementary school, and the former St. Joseph's convent. The community overlooks Lake Huron and is surrounded by rich farmland. The Kingsbridge Armory, also known as the Eighth Regiment Armory, is a decommissioned armory at Jerome Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road in the Kingsbridge Heights neighborhood of the Bronx in New York City. It was built in the 1910s, from a design by the firm of then-state architect Lewis Pilcher to house the New York National Guard's Eighth Coast Defense Command ( 258th Field Artillery Regiment after November 1921), a regiment-sized unit which relocated from Manhattan in 1917. It is possibly the largest armory in the world. In addition to its military function, it has been used over the years for exhibitions, boxing matches, and a film set. After World War II the city offered it to the United Nations as a temporary meeting place. Luxborough is a small village and civil parish located some south of Dunster, lying amongst the Brendon Hills and the Exmoor National Park in Somerset, England. It is divided into the hamlets of Churchtown, Kingsbridge and Pooltown, which lie within a mile of each other. Luxborough, 'Lolochesberie' in the Domesday Book, means 'stronghold or hill of a man called Lulluc'. In 2011, the population of the parish was 237. King's Bridge, Glasgow
King's Bridge is a road bridge spanning the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland. The bridge links Hutchesontown to the west (left bank) and Glasgow Green to the east (right bank) near the city centre. King's Bridge, which carries the A74 road, A74, is the second such structure crossing the river at that point. The original was wooden and completed in 1901, opening on the same day as the original Polmadie Bridge nearby. The current, wider version was built in 1933 and has four 21-metre spans containing a series of rivetted steel plate girders which support the reinforced concrete bridge deck.
