King James (band)
King James is a heavy metal supergroup formed in 1993 with guitarist Rex Carroll ( Whitecross) and frontman Jimi Bennett (Sacred Fire). Some time later, they recruited Tim Gaines and Robert Sweet of Stryper, and released their first album in 1994. The band supported the album with a tour without Gaines, who declined to join after the recording. Sweet toured with the band into 1996, but did not participate in their second release. Carroll and Bennett remained together and released a second album, ''The Fall'', in 1997. At that time there was talk of another King James release, but Whitecross regrouped, and Jimi joined former Petra drummer Louie Weaver to form Viktor. Both groups have released new CDs as of 2006. After fulfilling those obligations, the band regrouped and released ''MaXimus'' in June 2013. Rex Carroll
Rex Carroll is an American guitarist known for his work in the Christian metal band Whitecross. He is also the leader and guitarist of other bands including Fierce Heart, King James and the Rex Carroll Band. He also filled in and did all the guitar work on Eden's 1994 album ''Fan The Flame''. Career Whitecross In Whitecross, Carroll is not only the lead guitarist, but is also the primary songwriter. With Whitecross, he has completed six world tours and in 1989 they were the first American rock band to perform in Guatemala City. Whitecross won two Dove Awards for "Metal Album of the Year" in 1990 and 1992. Other Carroll has recorded numerous sound libraries, many of which have been picked up for use by ESPN for their NFL highlights, as well as Season One of the Anna Nicole Show. Petra (band)
Petra is an American music group regarded as a pioneer of the Christian rock and contemporary Christian music genres and was, for many years, regarded as the "world's most popular Christian rock band". Formed in 1972, the band took its name from the Greek word for "rock". Though it disbanded formally in 2006, incarnations have played reunion shows in the years since and released two albums in November 2010, and in November 2017. In 2013, it reformed with a new drummer, Cristian Borneo, and recorded a new song titled "Holy is Your Name", before going back on tour. Star Song Communications is a Christian record label that was started in 1976 in music, 1976 by Wayne Donowho, who recruited his friend Darrell Harris. It gained notoriety when it issued Resurrection Band's ground breaking debut album, Awaiting Your Reply in 1978. Originally, a distribution deal was made with Benson Records. From 1983 until 1986, distribution was done by Word Records. After that, a deal was made with Sparrow Records. Independent distribution was started in 1989, and picked up distribution for ForeFront records and DC Talk in 1991. This distribution was maintained until the sale of the company to EMI, and the launch of Chordant Distribution in 1994. Pure Metal Records was acquired from Refuge Records in 1990. Donald "Ean" Evans (September 16, 1960– May 6, 2009) was an American musician who was the bassist for southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd from 2001 until his death. He joined the band following the death of Leon Wilkeson. Life and career Evans was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He moved to Columbus, Mississippi after marrying his wife, Eva. He started in music at the age of five, playing trumpet and having an orchestral background until his teen years. Picking up the guitar at 15, he was soon playing the southeastern rock circuit with various cover groups. A few years later, he switched to bass so as to bring a fellow guitarist into the band. Louie Weaver
Louie Adrian Weaver III (born July 13, 1951) is a drummer most famous for being a long-time member of Christian rock band Petra. Weaver is also a member of the church of the Nazarene. He was dismissed from the band in 2003; he is currently working on several projects. In 2010, Weaver reunited with former members of Petra ( Greg X. Volz, Bob Hartman, John Lawry and Mark Kelly) to form Classic Petra. Starting in 2017, Weaver played in the CPR Band and recorded an album with them.
