Kimya Dawson
Kimya Dawson (born November 17, 1972) is an American folk singer-songwriter, one half of the anti-folk duo the Moldy Peaches. Dawson's work with the Moldy Peaches earned them a cult following and critical acclaim, with their 2001 song " Anyone Else but You" landing a spot in multiple acclaimed indie film soundtracks. " Anyone Else but You" as performed by Michael Cera and Elliot Page charted on the Billboard Hot 100 after its prominent inclusion in the 2007 film '' Juno'', the soundtrack of which includes several songs by Dawson and her associated musical acts. The song remains Dawson's highest charting single to date. Bedford Hills is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Bedford, Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 3,001 at the 2010 census. Alphabutt
''Alphabutt'' is an album of children's music by Kimya Dawson, recorded in February 2007, recorded with Hidden Vagenda producer Jason Carmer. The Alphabutt sessions were completed on February 21, 2008, and the full album was released on K Records in September 2008. Nine of the ten original songs have also appeared on self-released EP entitled ''Alphabutt E.Pee'' sold on Kimya's world tour in 2007. Each copy of the EP came in a unique hand-decorated folder of colored cardboard held together by a string. The folder contained an Alphabutt CD-R, a handwritten fact sheet and nine sheets of drawings on pink paper - one for each song. The flipside of the folder reads "made with love at the great crap factory". "Do it yourself" ("DIY") is the method of building, modifying, or repairing things by oneself without the direct aid of professionals or certified experts. Lo-fi (also typeset as lofi or low-fi; short for low fidelity) is a music or production quality in which elements usually regarded as imperfections in the context of a recording or performance are present, sometimes as a deliberate stylistic choice. The standards of sound quality (fidelity) and music production have evolved over the decades, meaning that some older examples of lo-fi may not have been originally recognized as such. Adam Green (musician)
Adam Green (born May 28, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter, artist and filmmaker. Green is well known for his involvement in the anti-folk music movement and as one half of the band the Moldy Peaches, alongside fellow singer-songwriter Kimya Dawson. Green has found success as a solo artist, enjoying increasing popularity in the United States as well as a number of European countries, particularly Germany. Career Music Green attended Emerson College for one semester in 1998 before leaving to concentrate on his music, going on to co-found the Moldy Peaches with Kimya Dawson. In 2002, the Moldy Peaches went on hiatus, and both Green and Dawson embarked on solo careers. Green released several albums on Rough Trade Records. Third Eye Blind is an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1993. After years of lineup changes in the early and mid-1990s, the songwriting duo of Stephan Jenkins and Kevin Cadogan signed the band's first major-label recording contract with Elektra Records in 1996. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1997, with the band largely consisting of Jenkins (vocals, rhythm guitar), Cadogan (lead guitar), Arion Salazar (bass guitar), and Brad Hargreaves (drums). Shortly after the release of the band's second album in 1999, ''Blue'', with the same line-up, Cadogan was released from the band under controversial circumstances.
