Kimberly K. Smith (born March 27, 1966) is an American historian, and political science professor. Life She graduated from University of Michigan with a Ph.D., and from Boalt School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. She teaches at Carleton College. She has published articles in the ''Journal of Political Philosophy'', ''Wisconsin Journal of Environmental Law'', ''Women's Studies'', ''California Law Review'', ''Rhetoric and Public Affairs'', and ''Environmental Ethics''. The Organization of American Historians (OAH), formerly known as the Mississippi Valley Historical Association, is the largest professional society dedicated to the teaching and study of American history.
