Kim Raymond
Kim Raymond (born 1957) is a British comic book artist and animator. Best known in the UK as a contributor to the Judge Dredd series of comics in the 2000 AD series, newspaper comic strips appearing in the first UK newspaper to be printed in full colour, Today, and The Daily Star. He is also one of the first UK born artists to obtain international recognition for developing commercial Disney art originating from the UK. Early life Kim Raymond was born in Woking, Surrey to parents Eric, an ex-navy communications engineer working in the domestic television industry and Patricia Raymond, a nurse. His early love of comics was of home-grown UK titles such as The Beano, Tiger and Lion, and more significantly, TV(Century)21, a spin-off title accompanying the puppet TV series of Gerry Anderson. Judge Dredd
Judge Joseph Dredd is a fictional character created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra. He first appeared in the second issue of the British weekly anthology Comic book, comic ''2000 AD (comics), 2000 AD'' (1977). He is the magazine's longest-running character, and in 1990 he got his own title, the ''Judge Dredd Megazine''. He also appears in a number of film and video game adaptations. Judge Dredd is a law enforcement and judicial officer in the dystopian future city of Mega-City One, which covers most of the east coast of North America. He is a "Judge (2000 AD), street judge", empowered to summarily arrest, convict, sentence, and execute criminals. Judge Dredd stories often satirise American and British culture, with a focus on authoritarianism and police brutality. Robo Machines (comics)
''The Robo Machines'' is a British comic strip, appearing in titles published by IPC Magazines. The story was published in the anthology ''Eagle'' from 10 November 1984 to 29 July 1985, written by Tom Tully, with art by Mario Capaldi and later Kim Raymond. Based on Bandai's ''Robo Machine'' toys, the story depicts an attack on Earth by evil scientist Stron-Domez and his evil Robo Machines. Creation The comic strip was one of several from ''Eagle'' based on a line of toys; others include ''Manta Force'', '' Starcom: The U.S. Space Force'' and ''Roadblasters''. The story was written by the experienced Tom Tully, an IPC stalwart best known for his run on ''Roy of the Rovers''. The Disney Store is a chain of specialty stores created on March 28, 1987, and sells only Disney-related items, many of them exclusive, under its own name and Disney Outlet. It is a business unit of the Disney Experiences division of The Walt Disney Company. Disney Store was the first "retail-tainment", or entertainment store. Roy Of The Rovers
''Roy of the Rovers'' is a British comic strip about the life and times of a fictional association football, footballer and later Manager (association football), manager named Roy Race, who played for Melchester Rovers. The strip first appeared in the ''Tiger (Fleetway), Tiger'' in 1954, before giving its name to a weekly (and later monthly) British comics, comic, published by IPC Media, IPC and Fleetway from 1976 until 1995, in which it was the main feature. The weekly strip ran until 1993, following Roy's playing career until its conclusion after he lost his left foot in a helicopter crash. When the monthly comic was launched later that year the focus switched to Roy's son Rocky, who also played for Melchester. This publication was short-lived, and folded after only 19 issues.
