This is a list of producers who have presided over the running of the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'' at some point since it began on 9 December 1960. In the early days, producers came and went on a regular basis, some repeating several short stints over a number of years. Coronation Street
''Coronation Street'' (colloquially referred to as ''Corrie'') is a British television soap opera created by ITV Granada, Granada Television and shown on ITV (TV network), ITV since 9 December 1960. The programme centres on a cobbled, terraced street in the fictional town of Weatherfield in Greater Manchester. The location was itself based on Salford, the hometown of the show's first screenwriter and creator, Tony Warren. Originally broadcast twice weekly, ''Coronation Street'' increased its runtime in later years, currently airing three 60-minute episodes per week. Warren developed the concept for the series, which was initially rejected by Granada's founder Sidney Bernstein, Baron Bernstein, Sidney Bernstein. Producer Harry Elton convinced Bernstein to commission 13 pilot episodes. Television Director
A television director is in charge of the activities involved in making a television program or section of a program. They are generally responsible for decisions about the editorial content and creative style of a program, and ensuring the producer's vision is delivered. ''Radio Times'' is a British weekly listings magazine devoted to television and radio programme schedules, with other features such as interviews, film reviews and lifestyle items. Founded in September 1923 by John Reith, then general manager of the British Broadcasting Company, it was the world's first broadcast listings magazine. In September 2023 it became the first broadcast listings magazine to reach and then pass its centenary. Kate Oates
Kate Oates (born 1979 or 1980) is a British television producer, who was born in Nottingham and graduated from Warwick University. She began her career working as a researcher and editorial assistant for Germaine Greer, before becoming a script editor for the soap opera '' Crossroads''. In 2003, she joined the radio soap ''The Archers'' as a producer, a position which Oates credits as the majority of her training. After resigning from this job, Oates began working on the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'' as a script editor, during which time she assisted with the soap's fortieth anniversary celebrations and worked on British Soap Award-winning storylines. She remained in the position until 2012 when she joined ''Coronation Street'' as the assistant producer. Philip Collinson (born 26 August 1970) is a British television producer. He was initially an actor, before switching to working behind the cameras in the industry as a script editor and writer on programmes such as ''Springhill'' and ''Emmerdale'', later becoming the producer of '' Peak Practice'', ''Doctor Who'' and ''Coronation Street''. Steve November
Steve November (born Steven Frost) is a British television producer and executive. Originally known as Steve Frost during his early career, he became a writer for the Sky One drama '' Dream Team''. He also took roles as an assistant director until he became a scriptwriter on the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''. He progressed to become the series producer, a role he then took on at ''Coronation Street'' and ''The Royal''. Within ITV he was promoted to Head of Continuing Drama, where he made decisions regarding ITV soap operas and weekly drama series. Brian Park
Brian Park is a Scottish television producer and executive. Early life and education He was born in Fife but lived in Aberdeen’s Bucksburn between the ages of nine and 17. He acted when he was a child and joined the Aberdeen Children’s Theatre at the age of 13, appearing in an episode of ''Dr Finlay’s Casebook''.
