Kim Banta
Kim Banta (born January 17, 1964) is an American politician and Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from Kentucky's 63rd House district. Her district includes parts of Boone and Kenton counties. Background Banta was born on January 17, 1964, in Northern Kentucky. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University Bloomington before earning her Doctor of Education from the University of Louisville. For the entirety of her career, Banta was employed in the education field. She began as a teacher at Simon Kenton High School before becoming the assistant principal and then principal of Dixie Heights High School. She would retire in 2019 as the assistant superintendent and chief academic officer of Kenton County Schools. Banta identifies as a Catholic. Kenton County School District
The Kenton County School District (the definite article is part of the district's official name) is a local education agency headquartered in Ft. Wright, Kentucky and is the public school system for Kenton County outside of those cities who have Independent School Districts. History Education Prior to establishment Kenton County was created in 1804 as Kentucky's 90th county. It was named after pioneer, Simon Kenton. The first free public school in Kenton County was in Covington was established in 1820. A second cabin school was open up in 1836 on Gerard Street. In 1921, the district bought its first school bus. Matt Bevin
Matthew Griswold Bevin (; born January 9, 1967) is an American businessman and politician who served as the 62nd governor of Kentucky, from 2015 to 2019. He was the third Republican elected Kentucky governor since World War II, after Ernie Fletcher (2003–2007) and Louie Nunn (1967–1971). Born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Shelburne, New Hampshire, Bevin earned a bachelor's degree at Washington and Lee University in 1989, then served four years of active duty in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of captain. Dixie Heights High School is a 6-A high school located at 3010 Dixie Highway in Edgewood, Kentucky, United States, but has a mailing address of Fort Mitchell. History The school was built by the Works Progress Administration. It opened for classes in 1936 and was dedicated by Eleanor Roosevelt. It was originally to be named for Franklin D. Roosevelt.
