Killererin
Killererin () is a Gaelic football club based in the Tuam area in County Galway, Ireland. It is a member of the Galway GAA branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association. An exclusively football club, Killererin fields underage teams up to U-16s play in the Galway league and championships. History Founded in 1889, the club was originally named Killererin John Dillon's. Competing for much of the 20th century in the junior grade, the club won its first county junior championship title in 1968. Promoted to senior grade, the club won the Galway Senior Football Championship in 1976. The club went on to win several club titles, and won its sixth county title defeating Corofin in October 2010. They faced St Brigid's of Roscommon in the 2010 Connacht Senior Club Football Championship final, but were beaten in extra time. Several Killererin players have played for Galway inter-county teams. Pádraic Joyce
Pádraic Joyce (born 1 April 1977) is a Gaelic football Manager (Gaelic games), manager and former player who played as a forward. He has been manager of the senior Galway county football team, Galway county team since 2019. Joyce won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship twice with Galway as a player and received three List of All Stars Awards winners (football), All Star Awards. He won four Galway Senior Football Championships while playing for the Killererin GAA, Killererin club. He also captained Ireland international rules football team, Ireland in the International Rules Series. In May 2020, the ''Irish Independent'' named Joyce at number sixteen in its "Top 20 footballers in Ireland over the past 50 years". The Connacht Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament played between senior clubs in Connacht, with one qualifying from each of the five individual county championships. The winners of the Connacht football championship qualify for the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Colin Forde (Gaelic Footballer)
Colin Forde (born ) is an Irish sportsperson who played Gaelic football with Killererin, and was a member of the Galway senior football team from 2011 to 2015. At club level, Forde was a member of the Killererin team that won the 2010 Galway Senior Football Championship. He was full-back on the Galway minor team that won the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship in 2007, and captained the Galway U21 team which won the 2011 All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship. Forde made his debut for the Galway senior football team in the 2011 Connacht Senior Football Championship semi-final against Mayo. The Galway county football team ( ) represents County Galway, Galway in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Galway GAA, the County board (Gaelic games), county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. St Brigid's GAA Club (''Naomh Bríd'') is a Gaelic football club located in the parishes of Kiltoom and Cam in County Roscommon, Ireland. The club was founded in 1944 and is a member of the Roscommon GAA branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Galway Junior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by lower-tier Galway GAA clubs. The winners of the Galway Championship qualify to represent their county in the Connacht Junior Club Football Championship. Roscommon Gaels GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Roscommon in County Roscommon, Ireland. The club provides teams for both hurling and Gaelic football. History The club was founded in 1959 as a result of a merger between two clubs, Eoghan Ruadhs & St. Comans. Gaelic football (; short name '')'', commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA, or football, is an Irish team sport. A form of football, it is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or palming the ball into the other team's Goal (sport), goal (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goal and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). St Mary's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the western ward of Sligo, County Sligo, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. History The club was formed in 1976 from the amalgamation of the Craobh Rua and Muire Naofa clubs.
