Kilanda Church
Kilanda Church () is a church in Ale Municipality, about east of the urban area of Älvängen, in Västergötland, Sweden. Since January 1, 2008 it has belonged to the Starrkärr-Kilanda parish in the Diocese of Gothenburg. The small stone church dates from the 13th century. It was rebuilt in 1703 with stone, replacing the older wood. The baptismal font is from the 13th century and the pulpit from 1721. The ceiling paintings were added by Ditloff Ross in 1738–39. It was renovated in 1947–48 by the architect Sigfrid Ericson, who also designed the altarpiece in 1954. The renovation in 1947–48 gave the church an 18th-century character. Ale Municipality
Ale Municipality () is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Nödinge-Nol, more precisely in Alafors at Ale Municipality was created in 1974, when the former municipalities of Nödinge, Skepplanda and Starrkärr were amalgamated. The new entity got its name from the old Ale Hundred, which had approximately the same territory. It built one of the first indoor bandy arenas in Sweden (and subsequently in the world), which was the first in Götaland, located in Bohuslän. Älvängen (earlier ''Elfängen'') is a urban areas of Sweden, locality situated in Ale Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 4,196 inhabitants in 2010. It is located some north of Gothenburg. Among the churches of Älvängen are the Älvängen Church and the Starrkärr Church . Älvängen was the hometown of the painter and writer Ivar Arosenius. The football player Pontus Dahlberg was born and raised in Älvängen. The ''P A Carlmarks rope factory'' was located to Älvängen. , there is a museum in the old factory locals that shows the rope productions in the early beginning of the 20th century.
