Kigamboni
Kigamboni District, officially known as The Kigamboni Municipal Council (''Halimashauri ya Manispaa ya Kigamboni'', in Swahili language, Swahili) is one of five Districts of Tanzania, districts of the Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania. The district is bordered to the north by Ilala District, to the east by the Indian Ocean, the west by Temeke District, and to the south by the Mkuranga District of Pwani Region. It covers an area of , making it the largest district the region by area. The district is comparable in size to the land area of Micronesia. The administrative seat is Somangila. The district is home to the headquarters of the Tanzania Naval Command, Tanzanian Navy, Kigamboni Naval Base, The Kigamboni Naval Base. Kisarawe II
Kisarawe II or unofficially East Kisarawe (''Kata ya Kisarawe'', in Swahili language, Swahili) is an administrative ward in the Kigamboni district of the Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania. The Kibada and Mjimwema, Kigamboni, Mjimwema form the ward's northern border. East is Somangila. Pembamnazi borders it to the south. Toangoma in the Temeke District, Dar es Salaam, Temeke District, as well as Vianzi and Vikindu in the Pwani Region's Mkuranga District, Pwani, Mkuranga District, border the west. Kigamboni Naval Base
The Kigamboni Naval Base (''Kituo cha Jeshi la Wanamaji Kigamboni'', in Swahili) is a naval base located in Kigamboni ward of Kigamboni District in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The base also hosts the Kigamboni Navy Health Center that is available to the public as well as Navy personnel. Sinda Island
Sinda Island (''Kisiwa cha Sinda'', in Swahili) is a protected, uninhabited island in the indian Ocean under the Dar es Salaam Marine Reserve (DMRS) with the IUCN category II located within Kigamboni District of Dar es Salaam Region in Tanzania. The islands reserve measures around 4.6km2 consisting of inner and outer Sinder Island. South of the island is Kikwero reef and west is the Somangila ward of Kigamboni. Mbutu Bandarini Ruins() is a Medieval Swahili, National Historic Site located in Somangila ward of Kigamboni District in Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania. Despite years of indifference that led to vandalism of the site, the Tanzanian government has contracted a firm to begin repair operations as soon as feasible. Site The site is situated near the Bandarini River delta, close to the seashore, about 2.5 km east of the settlement of Mwongozo in Somangila ward. Nyerere Bridge
Nyerere Bridge also unofficially known as Kigamboni Bridge (''Daraja la Nyerere'', in Swahili) is a 680-meter-long bridge located in the Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania that connects the Temeke District's ward of Kurasini from the east to the west of Kigamboni District's Vijibweni ward across the Kurasini estuary. Construction work began in February 2012 and completed in April 2016. The completion of the bridge has offered an alternative transport link to the new district of Kigamboni. Previously, the Kivukoni ferry provided a quick transport link between south east of the Dar es Salaam Central Business District specifically from south east of Kivukoni to north west of Kigamboni. Kimbiji Ruins
Kimbiji Ruins () is a Medieval Swahili, National Historic Site located in Kimbiji ward of Kigamboni District in Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania. Although the site has been vandalized by an illegally felled tree that fell on the mosque, the Tanzanian government is working to launch restoration measures as soon as possible. History The location of this place is around 300 meters to the east of Kimbiji town. There are stone ruins there with a lot of indigenous and foreign pottery on the surface. Additionally, there is a mosque that is in ruins and is thought to have been built in the 18th century A.D. The Tanzania Naval Command () is the naval warfare, naval military, military branch of the Tanzania People's Defence Force (TPDF). It was established in 1971 with assistance from China.
