Dean Kiely
Dean Laurence Kiely (born 10 October 1970) is a former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is the goalkeeping coach at Premier League club Crystal Palace and the Republic of Ireland national team. Born in England, he won eleven caps for the Republic of Ireland as a player. Kiely has previously worked as the goalkeeping coach at West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City. Club career Born in Salford, Lancashire, Kiely trained with the West Bromwich Albion youth system as a schoolboy before being accepted into the FA School of Excellence at Lilleshall. Kevin Kiely (born 2 June 1953) is a poet, critic, author and playwright whose writings and public statements have met with controversy and also with support. Early life Kiely was born on 2 June 1953 in Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland. She began her career designing hats, and moved on to design work on handbags and a variety of other items including kitchenware and cars. She received a master's degree from the Royal College of Art. Larry Kiely
Laurence Kiely (born 6 April 1941) is an Irish former hurler and show jumping rider. At club level he played with a number of sides, including Gortnahoe–Glengoole and Military College, and was also a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Kiely was also a member of the Army Equitation School and represented Ireland on a number of occasions. Early life Born and raised in Glengoole, County Tipperary, Kiely first played hurling as a schoolboy in various juvenile competitions at Glengoole National School before later lining out as a student at the Patrician College in Ballyfin. He was a member of the Patrician College team that won the Leinster Colleges' JHC title in 1957. Benedict "Ben" Kiely (15 August 1919 – 9 February 2007) was an Irish writer and broadcaster from Omagh, County Tyrone. Early life Kiely was born near Dromore, County Tyrone and was a student at the Christian Brothers School in Omagh. In 1937, he went to County Laois to take up a Jesuit novitiate, but went down with a tubercular spinal complaint in 1938. Lacking by then a vocation to the priesthood, he went on to University College Dublin. In 1943, he graduated B.A. from the National University. Career In 1945, Kiely began working for the ''Irish Independent'', where he was employed as a journalist and critic. In 1950, now a father of four, he joined the ''Irish Press'' as a literary editor. Thomas "Tom" Francis Kiely (25 August 1869 – 6 November 1951) was an Irish athlete. Kiely won gold in the all-round at the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis, Missouri, making him the first multi-event track and field champion of the Modern Olympic Games Biography Kiely was born in Banteer in County Cork, Ireland. the son of William and Mary (nee Downey) Keily. Rory Kiely (1 May 1934 – 13 June 2018) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician. Kiely was an unsuccessful candidate for the Dáil at the 1969 general election for the Limerick West. Kiely was first elected in 1977, to the 14th Seanad. He was re-elected by the Agricultural Panel to every subsequent Seanad, except for the short-lived 16th Seanad in 1982, until he retired in 2007. He was the Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann from 2002 to 2007. He was born in Feenagh, Kilmallock, County Limerick. Daniel Kiely (born 10 May 1940) is an auctioneer and former Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He was a senator for many years and also served on Kerry County Council from the 1980s through to the 2000s. Born in Tarbert, County Kerry, Kiely was elected in 1981 to the 15th Seanad, on the Labour Panel. At the February 1982 general election, he stood unsuccessfully for Dáil Éireann in the Kerry North constituency. This was the first of three successive defeats in Dáil elections: he also contested both the November 1982 and 1981 general elections without winning a seat. Kiely did not contest the 1982 Seanad election, and failed to regain his seat when he stood again at the 1983 election. Terry Kiely (born September 1975 in Britwell) is an English actor. He is best known for his role in the Sky One series ''Dream Team'', where he played the popular character Karl Fletcher for eight years, despite initially only signing up for six episodes. Acting career Kiely quit ''Dream Team'' three times but returned each time after struggling to find alternative roles. The character was eventually killed off at Kiely's request in 2005, but returned in the final series to act as a spirit guide to Harchester United player Jason Porter.
