Kida (film)
''Kida'' is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Ra. Venkat. Produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore under the production banner Sri Sravanthi Movies, the film stars Kaali Venkat and Poo Ramu in the lead roles, and Dileep and Pandiyamma in supporting roles. The film was released theatrically on 11 November 2023. Cast Production Ra Venkat made his directorial debut through ''Kida'' after over 17 years of being in the film industry doing various jobs including as an office assistant and an associate director. Earlier in 2017, he had begun work on a film titled ''Kavari Maan Parambarai'' starring Vishnu Vishal and Shivani Rajashekar, before the project was dropped. Venkat later acquainted with Telugu film producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore who produced the film, marking the first Tamil film of the production studio. The shoot was completed within 22 days. Kaali Venkat
Kaali Venkat (born 16 November 1982) is an Indian actor who mainly appears in Tamil language films in supporting roles. Personal life Venkat hails from Kudaiyadevanpatti a village near Kovilpatti. Venkat used to act in dramas during his school days. With an ambition to act in films he moved from his village to Chennai in 1997 to enter the Tamil film industry. In Chennai, he was doing jobs like selling groceries in order to survive until he met director Vijay Prabakaran. Prabakaran, who Venkat considers his guru, coached and taught him "everything I know about cinema today". Venkat got married Janani on 30 October 2017 in Chennai and has a son. Poo Ramu (1962 – 27 June 2022) was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language films as a supporting actor. Career Ramu was a member of the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers’ Association, and from 1990 to 2005, Ramu was a part of the theatre group Chennai Kalai Kuzhu. Ramu began his acting career as a street theatre artiste, reprising a role as a theatre actor in the "Naatukoru Seithi Solla" song as a part of his film debut ''Anbe Sivam'' (2003). He garnered acclaim in the film industry for his role in the critically acclaimed 2008 film '' Poo'' by Sasi.
