Kid Montana
Kid Montana was a Belgian electropop band that was active from 1981 to 1987. Kid Montana began in 1981 as an alias for Belgian musician Jean-Marc Lederman. Throughout that year, Lederman recorded tracks with various contributors which were published on compilations under the Kid Montana name. These recordings were collected on the EP ''Statistics Mean Nothing When You Get On The Wrong Plane'', released in 1982. In mid-1983 American singer Dudley Klute joined Kid Montana. Klute and Lederman released ''Revisiting Yalta,'' a 12" EP, in November 1983. The single ''Love May Be Blind'' and mini album ''The Las Vegas Gold Rush'' came out on Belgian label Les Disques du Crépuscule in October and December 1985 respectively. The group released their only full-length album, ''Temperamental,'' in 1987. New wave is a music genre that encompasses pop music, pop-oriented styles from the 1970s through the 1980s. It is considered a lighter and more melodic "broadening of Punk subculture, punk culture". Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a music genre that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. LTM Recordings
LTM Recordings (originally les temps modernes) is a British independent record label founded in 1983, and best known for reissues of artists and music from 1978 to the present day, as well as modern classical and avant-garde composition. The label is based in Norfolk, England, and is curated by James Nice. Dudley Klute
Dudley Klute (born December 10) is an American vocalist and songwriter noted for his work with the Belgian New wave music, New Wave band Kid Montana in the 1980s, and his subsequent collaborations with Stephin Merritt's The Magnetic Fields (he was a guest singer on ''69 Love Songs''), LD Beghtol, and other musicians. Additionally, he was one-third of the live-only performance ensemble The Three Terrors along with Merritt and Beghtol. Klute lives in Manhattan. Jean-Marc Lederman is a Belgian keyboard player and producer. He has worked with bands such as Fad Gadget, The The, Gene Loves Jezebel, The Weathermen, Belgian rock band Streets, and Front 242, and with other artists including Julianne Regan, Jacques Duvall and Alain Bashung. His main projects are The Weathermen, Kid Montana, Jules et Jim with Julianne Regan, Ghost & Writer with Frank Spinath of Seabound, Man-Dello (a solo electronica project), and cover version project La Femme Verte. He composes music for movies and videogames. He developed a musical iPhone app with Karl Bartos (ex-Kraftwerk) and Japanese multimedia artist Masayuki Akamatsu.
