Khyree Jackson
Khyree Anthony Jackson (August 11, 1999 – July 6, 2024) was an American football cornerback. He played college football for the Fort Scott CC Greyhounds, Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Oregon Ducks. The Minnesota Vikings selected him in the fourth round, with the 108th overall pick, of the 2024 NFL draft. Born in Washington, D.C., Jackson won a state championship with Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in 2018. He temporarily quit football after dropping out of Arizona Western College but returned the next year, switching from wide receiver to cornerback partway through his year at Fort Scott. He transferred to Oregon after two seasons at Alabama, earning All-Pac-12 honors in 2023. After being drafted by the Vikings, Jackson was killed in a traffic collision in Maryland. The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) is the association that oversees public high school sporting contests in the state of Maryland. Formed in 1946, the MPSSAA is made up of public high schools from each of Maryland's 23 counties and independent city of Baltimore, which joined the association in 1993 when its public high schools withdrew from the earlier longtime athletic league, the Maryland Scholastic Association (MSA) which was founded in 1919. In gridiron football, a reception, also known informally as a catch, is part of a passing play in which a player in bounds successfully catches (receives) a forward pass thrown from their team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. A clavicle fracture, also known as a broken collarbone, is a bone fracture of the clavicle. Symptoms typically include pain at the site of the break and a decreased ability to move the affected arm.
