Khromtau
Khromtau (, ''Hromtau'') is a town in Aktobe Region of Kazakhstan, the administrative center of Khromtau District. It was formed in 1967. Population: Khromtau has important Chromium deposits, which are currently exploited in underground mines by Kazchrome, a subsidiary of Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC). Previously, Chromite ore was mined in open cast mines, which left enormous pits behind. The newly built mosque and the also new Russian Orthodox Church, Russian orthodox church are juxtaposed on the main square of town. FC Gornyak soccer team played in the Kazakhstan First Division. They are now defunct. The colours of the bandy team Gornyak (Khromtau), Gornyak are green and white. They played a test match against Akzhaiyk at Medeu before the 2011 Asian Winter Games, but have no adult team in league as they used tNowadays young players is the focus. Aktobe Region
Aktobe Region (; ) is a region of Kazakhstan. The name ''Aktobe'' comes from Kazakh ''aq'' 'white' and ''töbe'' 'hill' or 'top (of something)'; supposedly, Aktobe's initial settlers were able to see white mountains far to the north. The Aktobe regional capital is the city of Aktobe. The region is located in the western part of Kazakhstan. Its area is 300,629 km2 (largest in Kazakhstan), which is 11 per cent of the territory of Kazakhstan. The population is 909 673 as of June 1, 2022. It was formed as a result of the administrative-territorial reform on March 10, 1932 as part of the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. FC Gornyak
FC Gornyak (, ''Gornıak Fýtbol Klýby'') is a defunct Kazakhstani Football (soccer), football club that was based in Khromtau. History Gornyak started the 1996 Kazakhstan Premier League, 1996 Premier League season, but withdrew after 4 games, with their results being annulled. Spartakiade (Kazakhstan)
The Spartakiad (or Spartakiade) was an international sports event that was sponsored by the Soviet Union. Five international Spartakiades were held from 1928 to 1937. Later Spartakiads were organized as national sport events of the Eastern Bloc countries. The games were organised by Red Sport International. Bandy World Championship
The Bandy World Championship is a competition for the men's teams of bandy-playing nations. The tournament is administrated by the Federation of International Bandy. It is distinct from the Bandy World Cup, a club competition, and from the Women's Bandy World Championship. A Youth Bandy World Championship also exists separately from the senior competition and has competitions in both the male and female categories. Kazakhstan National Bandy Team
The Kazakh national bandy team has been representing Kazakhstan in the Bandy World Championships since 1995. Kazakhstan finished third in 2003, 2005, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2011 and 2012 they lost the semifinals after extra-time. In 2025 they will, contrary to plan, not participate, because the responsible ministry declined to provide financial support.
