Myrhorod (, ) is a city in Poltava Oblast, central Ukraine. It serves as the Capital city, administrative center of Myrhorod Raion. Myrhorod also hosts the administration of Myrhorod urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. It is located on the Khorol River. Chervona is a multi-ethnic, Russian and Eastern European-inspired band from Portland, Oregon, that formed in 2006. They have become known for their old world-inspired music and their highly energetic live shows. Much of the band's repertoire consists of revamped classics of Russian folk songs as well as klezmer songs from the Black Sea region of Odessa. Popivka (), is a village in northeastern Ukraine, located in Okhtyrka Raion of Sumy Oblast. The village is on the banks of the Vorsklytsia River, and is located on the Russian-Ukrainian Border. History The exact date of the founding of the village was never known, but is estimated to be around late 18th century. In 1917, the village was captured by the Soviet army during the Russian Civil War, becoming part of the Soviet Union. During the Holodomor in 1932–1933, almost 300 residents in the village died as a result of mass starvation. Pavlo Hryhorovych Tychyna (; – September 16, 1967) was a major Ukrainians, Ukrainian poet, translator, publicist, public activist, academician, and statesman. He composed the lyrics to the Anthem of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Life Born in Pisky, Chernihiv Oblast, Pisky in 1891, he was baptized on January 27, which was mistakenly considered his birth date until recently. His father, Hryhoriy Timofiyovych Tychynin, was a village deacon and a teacher in the local grammar school. His mother, Maria Vasylivna Tychynina (Savytska), was eleven years younger than Pavlo's father. Pavlo had nine siblings: five sisters and four brothers. At first young Tychyna studied at the district's elementary school which was opened in Pisky in 1897.
