Atauddin Khan
Atauddin Khan (died 1 December 2015) was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and a former member of parliament for Dhaka-10. Career Khan was elected to parliament from Dhaka-10 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 1979. He was previously elected to the Parliament of Pakistan in 1965 as a Muslim League candidate. He served as the state minister of finance in the cabinet of President Ziaur Rahman. In 1980, he joined Janata Dal (Bangladesh), Janata Dal, founded by KM Obaidur Rahman. He served as the state minister of labor and social welfare. He was arrested by General Hussain Mohammad Ershad, who had launched a coup. Death Khan died on 1 December 2015. He was buried in Nawabganj Upazila, Dhaka, Nawabganj, Dhaka. The Awami League, officially known as Bangladesh Awami League, is a major List of political parties in Bangladesh, political party in Bangladesh. The oldest existing political party in the country, the party played the leading role in achieving the independence of Bangladesh. It is one of the two dominant parties in the country, along with their traditional rival, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). The party's activities were banned on 10 May 2025, under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009, Anti-Terrorism Act. Dhaka-10 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh. Since 6 August 2024 the constituency is vacant. Boundaries The constituency consists of wards 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 22 of Dhaka South City Corporation. History The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973. Ahead of the 2008 general election, the Election Commission redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the 2001 Bangladesh census.
