Khashyar Darvich is a documentary film producer and director best known for directing a documentary film about the Dalai Lama, " Dalai Lama Renaissance," which is narrated by actor Harrison Ford. He got his start in Colorado where he produced other documentaries and broadcast programs, including the documentary about an eccentric Colorado mountain town entitled "Black Hawk Waltz: Tales of a Rocky Mountain Town," which was broadcast on the History Channel. In 2007 he released " Dalai Lama Renaissance," which was an official selection at over 35 film festivals and won 12 awards. Dalai Lama (, ; ) is a title given by the Tibetan people to the foremost spiritual leader of the Gelug or "Yellow Hat" school of Tibetan Buddhism, the newest and most dominant of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism. ''Dalai Lama Renaissance'' is a 2007 feature-length documentary film, produced and directed by Khashyar Darvich, and narrated by actor Harrison Ford. The film documents the Dalai Lama's meeting with the self-titled "Synthesis" group, made up of 40 Western "renaissance" thinkers who hope to use the meeting to change the world and resolve many of the world's problems. The meeting took place at the Dalai Lama's home in Dharamsala, India in September, 1999. The film won 12 awards, was the official selection in over 40 international film festivals, and played in cinemas in over 100 cities in the U.S., as well as other countries in the world like Germany, Austria, Switzerland. Peace Pilgrim (July 18, 1908 – July 7, 1981), born Mildred Lisette Norman, was an American spiritual teacher, mystic, pacifist, vegetarian activist and peace activist. In 1952, she became the first woman to walk the entire length of the Appalachian Trail in one season. Starting on January 1, 1953, in Pasadena, California, she adopted the name "Peace Pilgrim" and walked across the United States for 28 years, speaking with others about peace.
