Kharesma Ravichandran
Kharesma Ravichandran (born 8 May 2000) is a British playback singer for Tamil cinema films. Her first public performance came at the age of four for the British Heart Foundation. A professionally trained western vocalist, Ravichandran began her playback singing career in 2014, with her debut coming in the Tamil film ''Yennai Arindhaal'' (2015). She is currently signed as an independent artist under Hiphop Tamizha’s label “Underground”. Early life Born in the United Kingdom, Kharesma started her musical journey through Trinity College London where she completed her Grade 8 in vocals and Grade 5 in Piano, both with Distinctions. In 2011 she moved to India for schooling and due to her parents' work and from 2014 she started singing for the South Indian Movie Industry. A playback singer, as they are usually known in South Asian cinema, or ghost singer in Western cinema, is a singer whose performance is pre-recorded for use in films. Playback singers record songs for soundtracks, and the performers lip-sync the songs for cameras; the actual singer does not appear on the screen. Generally, to synchronize with the emotional situation of the song or complete movie, the playback singer is given the idea of all those so that the singer can interpret by taking the right moves in their vocals. Sunitha Sarathy is an Indian vocalist and performer in both Indian contemporary and Western classical music genres. She is also a gospel singer who performs in various church choirs. Prem Kumar Gangai Amaren (born 26 February 1979), better known as Premgi or Premji () is an Indian singer, composer, songwriter, actor and comedian. The son of composer and director Gangai Amaran, he often composes rap songs in Tamil cinema and is known for his comical performances in his elder brother Venkat Prabhu's films.
