Aasia Begum, better known as simply Aasia, (13 November 1952 – 9 March 2013) was a Pakistani film actress who was active in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Early life Aasia was born in 1952 as Firdous in Patiala, Punjab, India. She emigrated from India to Pakistan. She resided in New York after retiring from her career, where she died on 9 March 2013, aged 60. Career She had made her debut in the Pakistani film industry in 1970 in a film by producer Shabab Kiranwi. In the same year, she also acted in film director Riaz Shahid's movie ''Gharnata'' (1970). Aasia acted in more than 179 Punjabi movies, including also several Urdu films. Aasia is best remembered for her role of 'Mukkho' in the Punjabi film ''Maula Jatt'' (1979). Bahar Begum (born Kishwar Begum; ) is an actress best known for many Pakistani movies since 1956. She was first introduced to the Pakistani film industry by the renowned film director Anwar Kamal Pasha in film Chann Mahi (1956). Anwar Kamal Pasha is the one that gave her the professional film world name Bahar Begum. Irfan Khoosat (Punjabi, ur, ) (born 9 June 1946) is a Pakistani actor, producer and a well-known comedian. Zahir Shah (1947 – 13 June 2017) was a Pakistani film actor working in Lollywood. He is best known for playing villainous roles in Punjabi films. He has been credited with working in over 600 films. Alam Lohar ( pa, ) was a prominent Pakistani Punjabi folk music singer. He is credited with creating and popularising the musical term Jugni. Early life and career Alam Lohar was born in 1928 in Achh, near Kotla Arab Ali Khan, Gujrat Tehsil, Gujrat District of Punjab, British India. He was born into a family of blacksmiths.
