Khalid Naciri
Khalid Naciri ( ar, خالد الناصري; 5 March 1946 – 5 April 2023) was a Moroccan politician of the Party of Progress and Socialism. Between 2007 and 2012, he held the position of Minister of Communications and Spokesperson of the Government in the cabinet of Abbas El Fassi. Khalid Naciri was born in Casablanca and studied in the Mission laïque française ( Lycée Lyautey); in 1970 he graduated with a bachelor in law from the "Casablanca faculty of law" and the University of Mohammad V of Rabat. He then worked as a lawyer and was an active member of Morocco's communist party. Naciri died on 5 April 2023, at the age of 77. Mohammed VI ( ar, محمد السادس; born 21 August 1963) is the King of Morocco. He belongs to the 'Alawi dynasty and acceded to the throne on 23 July 1999, upon the death of his father, King Hassan II. Upon ascending to the throne, Mohammed initially introduced a number of reforms and changed the family code, '' Mudawana'', granting women more power. Leaked diplomatic cables from WikiLeaks in 2010 led to allegations of corruption in the court of Mohammed, implicating him and his closest advisors. Widespread disturbances in 2011, a Moroccan element of the Arab Spring, protested against corruption and urged political reform. In response, Mohammed put into effect a program of reforms and introduced a new constitution. These reforms were passed by a public referendum on 1 July 2011. The Cabinet of Morocco is the chief executive body of the Kingdom of Morocco. The Cabinet is usually composed of some 25 ministers and 5 to 10 "Secretaries of State" and "Minister Delegates". Rabat
Rabat (, also , ; ar, الرِّبَاط, er-Ribât; ber, ⵕⵕⴱⴰⵟ, ṛṛbaṭ) is the capital city of Morocco and the country's seventh largest city with an urban population of approximately 580,000 (2014) and a metropolitan population of over 1.2 million. It is also the capital city of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra administrative region. Rabat is located on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg, opposite Salé, the city's main commuter town. Rabat was founded in the 12th century by Almohads. The city steadily grew but went into an extended period of decline following the collapse of the Almohads.
