Khaled Al-Maeena
Khaled Al Maeena (born 1954/1955) is a veteran Saudi journalist, commentator, businessman and the former editor-in-chief of the ''Saudi Gazette''. He is regarded as a liberal. He is also the patron of ''Muslim Mirror'' and the managing partner of Quartz, a communications company, as well as a director at Abeer Medical Group. Education Al Meena received his education in different countries, including the United States, Britain and Pakistan. He attended the St. Patrick's College in Karachi and graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Karachi. Career Al Maeena began his career in 1972, joining the Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) as an intern. He worked at several positions in the airline including as chief editor of ''Saudi World''. 2009 Jeddah Floods
The 2009 Saudi Arabian floods affected Jeddah, on the Red Sea (western) coast of Saudi Arabia, and other areas of Makkah Province. They have been described by civil defence officials as the worst in 27 years. As of 3 January 2010, some 122 people had been reported to have been killed, and more than 350 were missing. Some roads were under a meter (three feet) of water on 26 November, and many of the victims were believed to have drowned in their cars. At least 3,000 vehicles were swept away or damaged. The death toll was expected to rise as flood waters receded, allowing rescuers to reach stranded vehicles. More than 70 millimetres (2.76 inches) of rain fell in Jeddah in just four hours on 25 November. Khalid bin Faisal Al Saud ( ''Khālid bin Fayṣal Āl Suʿūd''; born 24 February 1940), commonly known as Khalid Al-Faisal, is a Saudi Arabian politician, artist, and poet who is the governor of Makkah Province, in office from 2007 to 2013 and again since 2015.
