:''See also Keystone Hotel (other)'' ''Keystone Hotel'' is a 1935 two-reel comedy short subject, directed by Ralph Staub and released by the Vitaphone Corporation through Warner Bros. Pictures. Inspired by the silent comedies produced by Mack Sennett, the film reunites many of Sennett's former stars. Plot Cross-eyed Count Drewa Blanc arrives at the busy Keystone Hotel to judge a fashion show. In the hotel lobby, the chief of police, the mayor, and a gangster try to sway the Count's decision. Upstairs, the house detective investigates some marital shenanigans, some involving a vibrating exercise machine. The fashion show is held in a banquet hall, where the hotel manager introduces the contestants. The winner is chosen, but the myopic Count awards the trophy to the wrong woman. June Gittelson
June Gittelson (May 6, 1910November 28, 1993) was an American film actress. She appeared in more than 70 films between 1928 and 1945. Career Due to her rotund figure, Gittelson was often cast as a love interest who often intimidated her husband or boyfriend. Modern viewers will recognize Gittelson in her appearances in several early Three Stooges films such as '' Slippery Silks'', '' Dizzy Doctors'', '' Horses' Collars'' and '' The Sitter Downers''. Perhaps her most famous role was as Minnie in the Stooge film ''False Alarms'', in which she played the large and man-hungry lady pursuing the affections of a reluctant Curly Howard. Vitaphone Short Films
Vitaphone was a sound film system used for feature films and nearly 1,000 short subjects made by Warner Bros. and its sister studio First National from 1926 to 1931. Vitaphone is the last major analog sound-on-disc system and the only one that was widely used and commercially successful. The soundtrack is not printed on the film, but issued separately on phonograph records. The discs, recorded at rpm (a speed first used for this system) and typically in diameter, are played on a turntable physically coupled to the projector motor while the film is projected. Its frequency response is 4300 Hz. Many early talkies, such as '' The Jazz Singer'' (1927), used the Vitaphone system. The name "Vitaphone" derived from the Latin and Greek words, respectively, for "living" and "sound". Charles Knox Manning (January 17, 1904 – August 26, 1980) was an American film actor. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. He and Annette North Manning are interred at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura, California. Motion pictures A former radio newscaster at KNX and announcer, Manning entered the motion picture field in 1939 as an offscreen narrator. His distinctive voice and phrasing were noticed by other studios, and he quickly became one of the movies' busiest voice artists. Very often he was the trademark voice of several concurrent series. From 1940 to 1954 he was the narrator of Columbia Pictures' popular adventure serials, reading the sometimes tongue-in-cheek scripts with enthusiasm. Jack Lukeman (born Seán Loughman 11 February 1973), usually simply known as Jack L, is an Irish songwriter, musician, record producer, vocal artist and broadcaster. Early life Lukeman was born as Seán Loughman in St Vincent's Hospital, Athy; son of Seán Loughman, who was a mechanic, and his wife, Rose. Lukeman grew up in Bennetsbridge, near Athy, County Kildare. Lukeman attended a youth club in Athy known as Aontas Ogra at the age of 12 years old, where he was involved in artistic ventures as well as playing music there. He left school at 15. After spending a short period in the family business, he began playing music full-time at 18 cutting his teeth on the Bohemian busking scene around Europe in the early 90s.
