''Keye Luke'' is a 2012 American short film directed by Timothy Tau, written by Timothy Tau, Ed Moy and Feodor Chin, and produced by Timothy Tau. Synopsis The short film is a documentary and narrative hybrid Biographical film, bio-pic focusing on the earlier life and work of Keye Luke during the 1920s-1940s, a pioneering Asian American actor and painter most known for his roles as the Number One Son, Lee Chan, in the popular Charlie Chan films of the 1930s, and as the very first Kato (Green Hornet), Kato in the 1940s Green Hornet, decades before Bruce Lee. Luke shares a hometown with Lee (Seattle, Washington) and has several other similarities with Lee as well. Timothy Tau
Timothy Tau (born Timothy Tau Hsieh ( ); Chinese: 謝韜; pinyin: Xiè Tāo) is a Taiwanese-American writer, engineer, attorney, law professor and filmmaker. Tau won the 2011 ''Hyphen'' Asian American Writers' Workshop Short Story Contest for his short story, "The Understudy", which was published in the Winter 2011 issue of ''Hyphen'' magazine, Issue No. 24, the "Survival Issue." Tau also won Second Prize in the 2010 ''Playboy'' College Fiction Contest for his short story, "Land of Origin" (see the October 2010 issue of ''Playboy'' magazine). He has also directed a number of short films and music videos that have screened at various film festivals worldwide and on YouTube. Kato (Green Hornet)
Kato, name=, group= is a fictional character from ''The Green Hornet'' franchise. This character has appeared with the Green Hornet in radio, film, television, book and comic book versions. Kato was the Hornet's assistant and has been played by a number of actors. On radio, Kato was initially played by Raymond Hayashi, then Roland Parker who had the role for most of the run, and in the later years Mickey Tolan and Paul Carnegie. Keye Luke took the role in the movie serials, and in the television series, he was portrayed by Bruce Lee. Jay Chou played Kato in the 2011 Green Hornet film. Gordon Wynnivo Jones (April 5, 1912 – June 20, 1963) was an American character actor, a member of John Wayne's informal acting company best known for playing Lou Costello's TV nemesis "Mike the Cop" and appearing as The Green Hornet in the first of two movie serials based on that old-time radio program. Career Iowa-born Jones had been a student athlete and star football guard ("Bull" Jones) at University of California, Los Angeles, and had also played a few seasons of professional football. Wong Tung Jim, A.S.C. (; August 28, 1899 – July 12, 1976), known professionally as James Wong Howe (Houghto), was a Chinese-born American cinematographer who worked on over 130 films.
