Kevin Patrick Smith (born May 13, 1997) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Gastonia Ghost Peppers of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He was drafted by the New York Mets in the seventh round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. Career Smith attended Dunwoody High School in Dunwoody, Georgia, and played college baseball at the University of Georgia. In 2016 and 2017, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League. New York Mets Smith was drafted by the New York Mets in the seventh round, with the 200th overall selection, of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. Smith made his professional debut with the Low–A Brooklyn Cyclones, going 4–1 with a 0.76 ERA over innings. He started 2019 with the High–A St. Lucie Mets before being promoted to the Double–A Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
