Kevin Moore (sprinter)
Kevin Arthur Moore (born 29 July 1990) is a sprinter competing internationally for Malta. He initially represented Australia before switching allegiance to Malta, the country of birth of his late father, where Kevin also lived for the first six years of his life. He competed in the 400 metres at the 2013 World Championships without advancing from the first round. In June 2016, he tested positive for three illegal substances and was banned from competition for four years. His sanction lasted from 11 June 2016 until 24 September 2020. He is of Greek Cypriot Australian descent, through his mother. 2016 European Athletics Championships
The 2016 European Athletics Championships was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, between 6 and 10 July 2016. It was the first time the Netherlands hosted the event. Due to 2016 being an Olympic year, there was no racewalking and the marathon competition was replaced by half marathon. The Russian team did not participate due to the suspension of the All-Russia Athletic Federation by the International Association of Athletics Federations. However, Yuliya Stepanova was individually cleared by the IAAF to compete as an independent athlete; she participated in the European championships under the flag of the European Athletic Association. Athletics At The 2014 Commonwealth Games
Athletics was one of ten core sports that appeared at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. As a founding sport, athletics has appeared consistently since its introduction at the 1911 Inter-Empire Games; the recognised precursor to the Commonwealth Games. The competition took place between Sunday 27 July and Saturday 2 August at the temporarily modified Hampden Park, Scotland's national football stadium. The programme commenced with the 26.2 mile marathon, which started and finished at Glasgow Green and included numerous para-sport events throughout. Racewalking events were dropped from the programme for 2014 – a move condemned by walking athletes.
