Kevin Ford (boxer)
Kevin Ford (born August 3, 1962) is an American former heavyweight professional boxer. Amateur career Ford is a native of Sacramento, California, graduating from Rio Linda High School, but he moved to Houston in 1987 to further his boxing career. He had a stellar amateur career, becoming the 1988 National Golden Gloves super heavyweight champion. Prior to the win, he lost to Riddick Bowe in 1988 Olympic Trials. Professional career Ford turned pro in 1989 and was undefeated in his first 9 bouts before losing to Tony Willis by TKO in 1990. He then lost a decision to Joe Hipp in 1992 and again in 1993. He retired later that year after a TKO loss to James Smith. Kevin B. Ford (born 22 December 1967) is an American mathematician working in analytic number theory. Education and career Early life Ford received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics in 1990 from the California State University, Chico. He then attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where he completed his doctoral studies in 1994 under the supervision of Heini Halberstam. His dissertation was titled ''The representation of numbers as sums of unlike powers''. Early career (1994–2001) From September 1994 to June 1995 he was at the Institute for Advanced Study. He was then a postdoc at UT Austin until 1998, while also doing software development at the NASA Ames Research Center during the summers of 1997 and 1998. Dorothy Walker Dorothy Walker is a fictional character in Marvel Comics. She was created by Stuart Little and Ruth Atkinson and first appeared in '' Miss America Magazine'' #2 (November 1944). She was reintroduced in '' The Defenders'' #89 (November 1980) by David Michelinie and Mike Harris as a radical departure from her conception. Dorothy Walker is introduced as Betty Walker, the doting mother of Patsy Walker.
