Kevin Cavenaugh
Kevin A. Cavenaugh (born May 2, 1967) is a real estate developer and designer from Portland, Oregon, and the owner of Guerrilla Development. Early life and education Cavenaugh is from California. He studied architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, and was a Loeb fellow at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. Career Cavenaugh is a real estate developer and designer, and the founder and owner of Guerrilla Development. He became a developer in 2001, and was an intern with Fletcher Farr Ayotte, as of 2004. Cavenaugh is known for his views on affordable housing, displacement, and gentrification. The Fair-Haired Dumbbell is a building located at 11 Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., in Portland, Oregon's Burnside Bridgehead project in the Kerns, Portland, Oregon, Kerns neighborhood, United States. Its exterior design was created by Los Angeles artist James Jean, and was selected by the Regional Arts & Culture Council, the city, and Guerrilla Development. Peace Corps
The Peace Corps is an independent agency and program of the United States government that trains and deploys volunteers to provide international development assistance. It was established in March 1961 by an executive order of President John F. Kennedy Executive Order 10924 and authorized by Congress the following September by the Peace Corps Act. The Zipper (Portland, Oregon)
The Zipper is a mixed-use development by Kevin Cavenaugh on Sandy Boulevard in the northeast Portland part of the Kerns neighborhood, in the U.S. state of Oregon. Established in 2015, the food hall has housed several restaurants and other businesses including Tight Tacos. Description and history The Zipper opened in September 2015. The food hall is dog-friendly and has indoor and outdoor seating. Tenants The building has housed restaurants, a bar (Paydirt), a coffee shop, and a salon. Businesses have included Bywater Grocery, Chickpeadx, Rua, Seven Virtues Coffee Roasters, and Slice Pizza. Rua closed in February 2016 and was replaced by Basilisk. In 2017, Wares began operating in the space that had housed Bywater Grocery. In December 2018, Chickpeadx announced plans to close permanently.
