Kev Orkian
Kev Orkian (born Kevork Kapikyan; 13 February 1974) is a British-Armenian comedian. He has performed around the world from New York City, Los Angeles and Toronto to Dubai, Oman and Australia. Orkian has been compared to the likes of Victor Borge, Les Dawson and Dudley Moore. Early life Orkian was born in Edmonton, North London to Armenian parents. He attended Barnet College. He went on to study at Brunel University. Career Between 2003 and 2009, Orkian spent time touring the UK as the support act for some of the biggest names in British comedy and has previously starred in West-End London musicals including '' Fame'', ''Happy Days'' and ''Boogie Nights'' alongside ''Dancing on Ice'' winner and ''Emmerdale'' actress Hayley Tamaddon. Jongleurs (comedy Club)
Jongleurs is a chain of comedy clubs in the United Kingdom, running since 1983. The business is now owned by Kev Orkian. Early years Maria Kempinska established and opened the first Jongleurs club in 1983 in Battersea, London. In 1985 Kempinska met her business partner John Davy and they went on to create a number of comedy clubs around the UK in the following years. By 2000, there were eight Jongleurs venues across the UK. Regent Inns plc, the owners of Walkabout & Surfer's Paradise (bar & club), Walkabout, bought the clubs. Kempinska and Davy retained certain rights to the brand name, as well as creative control over booking acts. With Regent Inns in financial trouble, the Cardiff venue was closed in January 2009 and in October that year, Regent Inns went into prepacked administration, allowing for a management buy-out which resulted in the formation of Intertain UK. Jethro (comedian)
Geoffrey McIntyre Rowe (8 March 1948 – 14 December 2021), known by his stage name Jethro, was a Cornish stand-up comedian and singer from England. Early life Rowe was born in St Buryan, Cornwall, on 8 March 1948, the son of a farmer. After leaving school, he apprenticed as a carpenter and worked in a tin mine near Trewellard. His father, Hugh, founded the St Buryan Male Voice Choir, and Jethro made his first stage appearances with the St Just District Operatic Society in St Just as a bass singer. Career Rowe started touring pubs and clubs in Cornwall, singing traditional songs. One night, he ran out of voice and could not sing any more, so he told a joke instead. Robert Christopher Nankeville, known professionally as Bobby Davro (born 13 September 1958), is an English actor and comedian. He made his television debut in 1981 followed by breakthrough in ''Live from Her Majesty's'' (1983); this was followed by appearances on the television show ''Copy Cats''.
