Kev Lingard
Kevin Rowson "Kev" Lingard (born 14 August 1942) is an Australian former politician. He was a National Party ( Liberal National from 2008 onwards) member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 1983 to 2009 and a former Deputy Leader of the Nationals in Queensland. Before entering politics, Lingard represented Queensland in both rugby league and rugby union. Political career Lingard first entered state parliament as the member for Fassifern at the 1983 state election. He held the seat until its abolition at the 1992 state election, upon which he won the replacement seat of Beaudesert. He remained the member for Beaudesert until his retirement at the 2009 state election. Lingard served as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from February to November 1987. He resigned the Speakership to accept the position of Minister for Health and Environment in the dying days of the Joh Bjelke-Petersen premiership. Mike Ahern (Australian Politician)
Michael John Ahern (2 June 1942 – 11 August 2023) was an Australian National Party politician who was Premier of Queensland from December 1987 to September 1989. After a long career in the government of Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen, Ahern became his successor amid the controversy caused by the Fitzgerald Inquiry into official corruption. Ahern's consensus style and political moderation contrasted strongly with Bjelke-Petersen's leadership, but he could not escape the division and strife caused by his predecessor's downfall. Aidan Patrick McLindon (born 26 February 1980) is an Australian politician. He was first elected for the seat of Beaudesert to the Queensland State Parliament for the Liberal National Party at the 2009 state election. He resigned from that party to become an independent in May 2010, and in June 2010 he established The Queensland Party, which he merged with Katter's Australian Party in August 2011. He lost his seat to the LNP at the 2012 election. Selwyn John "Sel" Muller (18 October 1917 – 24 February 2008) was a dairy farmer and member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Biography Muller was born in Boonah, Queensland, to parents Adolf Gustav Muller and his wife Annie (née Lobegeiger) and attended Kalbar State School and Boonah High School. Electoral District Of Fassifern
Fassifern was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland from 1873 to 1992. It was based on the area south of Ipswich and stretched toward the New South Wales border, although in subsequent redistributions was reduced in size away from the growing Brisbane area. It was named after the Fassifern Valley. Fassifern was a safe Country/National district for most of its existence.
