Keto Dzhaparidze
Ketevana Konstantinovna Dzhaparidze ( ka, ქეთევან კონსტანტინეს ასული ჯაფარიძე, russian: Кэтевана Константиновна Джапаридзе; February 11, 1901, Kvishkheti, Kutais Governorate, Russian Empire – September 20, 1968, Tbilisi, Georgian SSR, USSR) was Georgian Soviet singer. People's Artist of the Georgian SSR (1956). Biography She went to study at the Tiflis noble gymnasium in 1909, where her powerful voice was noticed by the famous composer Zachary Paliashvili, who worked there as a music teacher and led the school choir. In 1919, she entered the Tiflis Conservatory. In 1927, after graduating from the conservatory, she went to Berlin, where she took singing lessons for 3 years. In 1930, she returned to the USSR (Georgia). In the spring or summer of 1937, Keto made her debut in Moscow, she gave a solo concert on the stage of the Hermitage (Moscow theater of the revolution). Kvishkheti
The village Kvishkheti is located in the Khashuri district of the Shida Kartli region in the Republic of Georgia. It is situated between the Likhi mountain range to the west and the Trialeti Range to the east, and the Mtkvari River flows nearby. Kvishkheti's historical significance mainly comes from the 17th and 19th centuries. :''At the beginning of the 17th century Abbas I, Shah of Iran, drove the Turks out of Armenia, Kartli (Iberia) and Kakheti. The Didube Pantheon ( ka, დიდუბის მწერალთა და საზოგადო მოღვაწეთა პანთეონი) is a cemetery in Tbilisi, Georgia, where some of the most prominent writers, artists, scholars, scientists and political activists of Georgia are buried. Kutais Governorate
The Kutaisi or Kutais Governorate was a province ('' guberniya'') of the Caucasus Viceroyalty of the Russian Empire. It roughly corresponded to most of western Georgia throughout most of its existence, and most of the Artvin Province (except the Hopa and Yusufeli districts) of Turkey between 1878 and 1903. Created out of part of the former Georgia-Imeretia Governorate in 1846, the governorate also included Akhaltsikhe uezd before its cession to the Tiflis Governorate in 1867.
