Kersy Katrak
Kersy Katrak (1936–2007) was an Indian Parsi advertising personality and poet who rose to prominence with the advertising agency he founded in 1965, MCM (Mass Communication and Marketing). MCM revolutionized Indian advertising, offered great leeway to creatives, and managed to attract an enormous talent pool including Ajit Balakrishnan, Sudarshan Dheer, Veeru Hiremath, Ravi Gupta, Panna Jain, Arun Kale, Anil Kapoor, Mohammed Khan, Arun Kolatkar Arun Balkrishna Kolatkar (1 November 1932 – 25 September 2004) was an Indian poet who wrote in both Marathi and English. Arun Kolatkar
Arun Balkrishna Kolatkar (1 November 1932 – 25 September 2004) was an Indian poet who wrote in both Marathi and English. His poems are known for expressing the humour in everyday life. Kolatkar is the only Indian poet other than Kabir to be featured on the World Classics titles of New York Review of Books. His first collection of English poetry, '' Jejuri,'' won the Commonwealth Poetry Prize in 1977. His Marathi verse collection ''Bhijki Vahi'' won a Sahitya Akademi Award in 2005. An anthology of his works, ''Collected Poems in English'', edited by Arvind Krishna Mehrotra, was published in Britain by Bloodaxe Books in 2010. Trained as an artist from the J. J. School of Art, he was also a graphics designer. Life Kolatkar was born in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, where his father, Tatya Kolatkar, worked as an officer in the education department. The Parsis or Parsees () are a Zoroastrian ethnic group in the Indian subcontinent. They are descended from Persian refugees who migrated to the Indian subcontinent during and after the Arab-Islamic conquest of Iran in the 7th century, when Zoroastrians were persecuted by the early Muslims. Ajit Balakrishnan is an Indian entrepreneur, business executive and administrator. He is the founder, current chairman-Emeritus of Rediff.com, an internet company based in Mumbai. He was chairman of the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) for two five-year terms ending in March 2017. Kiran Nagarkar (2 April 1942 – 5 September 2019) was an Indian novelist, playwright and screenwriter. A noted drama and film critic, he was one of the most significant writers of Independence of India, post-colonial India.#Sa, Sanga, p. 177 Amongst his notable works are ''Saat Sakkam Trechalis'' (tr.
