Kerryn McCann
Kerryn McCann ( Hindmarsh; 2 May 1967 – 7 December 2008) was an Australian athlete. She was best known for winning the marathon at the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games. Personal life McCann was born Kerryn Hindmarsh in Bulli, New South Wales, in 1967. In 1991 she married Greg McCann, a surfer who represented Australia twice in international competition, and was Australian champion in 1983. Their first son Benton, was born in 1997; daughter Josie was born in 2003. In August 2007 it was announced that McCann, who was expecting her third child at the time, was being treated for breast cancer. She had surgery to remove the lump and was later induced, giving birth to son Cooper on 5 September 2007 (6 weeks premature). She then began a 20-week course of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Bulli, New South Wales
Bulli ( ) is a northern suburb of Wollongong situated on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia. History Bulli is possibly derived from an Aboriginal word signifying "double or two mountains" referring to Mount Kembla and Mount Keira, but other derivations have been suggested. Originally inhabited by Dharawal Indigenous Australians, Aboriginal people, European wood cutters worked in the area from about 1815. The area was once abundant in Red Cedars, these are now still seen but thinly. The first permanent European settler was Cornelius O'Brien, who established a farm in 1823 and whose name was given in the pass at O'Briens Road south at Figtree, New South Wales, Figtree. Jacquilyn Louise "Jackie" Fairweather (née Gallagher; 10 November 1967 1 November 2014) was an Australian world champion triathlete, long-distance runner, coach and Australian Institute of Sport high-performance administrator. Personal life Jacquilyn Louise Gallagher was born on 10 November 1967 in Perth. Her parents were Delys and Martin, and she had two younger brothers: Matthew and Joshua. In 1979, whilst living in Sydney, she became involved in Little Athletics. The London Marathon (also known as the TCS London Marathon for sponsorship reasons) is an annual marathon held in London, England. Founded by athletes Chris Brasher and John Disley in 1981, it is typically held in April, although it moved to October for 2020, 2021, and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
