Kerry Norton-Smyser
Norma-Jean Smyser ( Norton; 7 December 1927 – 29 December 2013), better known as Kerry Norton-Smyser, was an Australian actress who performed in stage shows, night-club acts, and radio shows in the early 1950s in Australia, and is best-remembered as Australia's "Blondie". Biography Early life Kerry Norton was born as Norma-Jean Norton on 7 December 1927. She was an A-grade student throughout her school life, excelling in English and Grammar. Career In February 1947, Norton screen tested for a role in director Roy Darling's movie, ''The Intimate Stranger (unfinished film), The Intimate Stranger''. Reg Goldsworthy
Reginald Goldsworthy (1919–1981) was an Australian actor, writer and producer of radio and film. In the late 60s he established Goldsworthy Productions which made a number of movies. He started acting in Adelaide and then moved to Melbourne in the 1940s. He worked there for five years before relocating to Sydney, becoming a popular radio actor. Phillip Yordan
Philip Yordan (April 1, 1914 – March 24, 2003) was an American screenwriter of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s who produced several films. He acted as a front for blacklisted writers although his use of surrogate screenwriters predates the McCarthy era. His actual contributions to the scripts he is credited with writing is controversial and he was known to some as a credit-grabber. Born to Polish immigrants, he earned degrees from both University of Illinois and Chicago-Kent College of Law. ''Anna Lucasta'' is a 1944 American play by Philip Yordan. Inspired by Eugene O'Neill's ''Anna Christie'', the play was originally written about a Polish American family. The American Negro Theatre director Abram Hill and director Harry Wagstaff Gribble adapted the script for an all African American cast, and presented the first performance on June 16, 1944. The play moved from Harlem to Broadway's Mansfield Theatre, running August 30, 1944 – November 30, 1946. The Broadway cast included Hilda Simms, Canada Lee, and Alice Childress. Theatre Royal, Sydney
Theatre Royal Sydney is a theatre in Sydney, Australia built in 1976 and has offered a broad range of entertainment since the 1990s. The theatre reopened in December 2021 under parent company Trafalgar Entertainment with patrons now able to book tickets directly from the venue itself with its Box Office operating 7 days a week. Benn Wolfe Levy (7 March 1900 – 7 December 1973) was a Labour Party Member of Parliament in the House of Commons (1945–1950), and a successful playwright. He was educated at Repton School and University College, Oxford and served in uniform in both World Wars. Mischa Auer (born Mikhail Semyonovich Unkovsky (Михаил Семёнович Унковский; 17 November 1905 – 5 March 1967) was a Russian-born American actor who moved to Hollywood in the late 1920s. John Andrew Davey (8 February 190714 October 1959), known as Jack Davey, was a New Zealand-born singer and pioneering star of Australian radio as a performer, producer, writer and host from the early 1930s into the late 1950s.
