Paul David Kerley III (born May 30, 1957), known professionally as David Kerley, is an American journalist who was a correspondent for ABC News in Washington, D.C. Early life and education A native of Southern California, Kerley earned a bachelor's degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. During college, Kerley, who grew up near Disneyland, worked at the theme park's Tomorrowland. Professional career Kerley began his broadcasting career in radio, as the news director for KCPR-FM in San Luis Obispo. He then shifted to television, first at nearby KCOY in Santa Maria as 11 p.m. anchor and 6 p.m. sports anchor from 1978 to 1981 (see him in from that era). Fredrick Lee Kerley ( ; born May 7, 1995) is an American track and field sprinter. He was the Olympic silver medalist over 100 m at the 2020 Olympics and bronze medalist at the 2024 Olympics in the same event. Kerley has earned an additional six medals at the World Championships, most notably 100 m gold at the 2022 edition. He has also medalled in the 400 m, 4 × 100 m relay, and 4 × 400 m relay and won eleven Diamond League races, including two Diamond League finals - the 400 m in 2018 and the 100 m in 2021. His personal best time of 43.64 seconds makes him the tenth fastest man in history over 400 meters. Donald Neil Kerley (20 February 1934 – 29 June 2022) was an Australian rules footballer and coach. He is best known for taking three clubs to four South Australian National Football League (SANFL) premierships over three decades as both a player and coach, and for playing 32 state games for South Australia. Sir Peter James Kerley KCVO CBE (27 October 1900 – 14 May 1979) was an Irish radiologist famous for his role in the lung surgery of King George VI and the naming of the radiological sign in heart failure, Kerley lines. Kerley had his initial radiological training in Vienna at a time when it was the new science. On his return, he completed his studies in Cambridge and took up a post in Westminster Hospital. Here, he worked closely with Sir Clement Price Thomas and also edited a major radiology textbook. Following his early return from India and Singapore during World War II, Kerley continued his work in radiology of the heart and lungs and became radiology advisor to the Ministry of Health.
