Keralapress
Keralapress is a Malayalam language News agency established in the year 1930 by veteran journalist C.G.Kesavan from Madras, from where he was working with The Hindu at the time. Origins Keralapress (Kerala Press Service)(Kepra) commenced operation as a mail service giving news about Malayali activities in Madras to the Malayalam daily Malayala Rajyam published from Kollam. In 1942 the operation was shifted to Quilon where the founder was a practicing lawyer and the correspondent of ''The Hindu'' the English daily. Stalwarts of Malayalam news papers like K.C. Mammen Mappila, K.G.Sanker and K.Sukumaran extended all support to the new venture. Many news papers including Mathrubhoomi, Kerala Kaumudi and Malayala Manorama subscribed to the news service. Malayala Rajyam
''Malayala Rajyam'' was a Malayalam-language newspaper founded by K. G. Shankar in 1929 in Quilon, Travancore. Its main aim was to support the Indian independence movement and the activities of Indian National Congress. It became a daily in 1931 and was amongst the earliest daily morning newspapers in Kerala. The newspaper featured despatches from the Associated Press of India and Reuters as well as news pictures fed by international photo agencies. It had modern printing equipment and even operated a bus service to distribute the copies to agents on time. Prabhatham
''Prabhatham'' was a Malayalam-language weekly newspaper published from Shoranur in Malabar, British India. Founded in 1935 and edited by E. M. S. Namboodiripad, it was the organ of the Congress Socialist Party (CSP) in Malabar, Travancore and Cochin. The newspaper was subjected to censorship right from its inception. It had to close down due to the heavy security imposed on the paper for publishing a poem on Bhagat Singh's death. The newspaper resumed publication in April 1938. It shifted to Calicut and continued as a weekly until the outbreak of World War II in September 1939. ''Prabhatham'' was a short-lived newspaper both because of the colonial repression and because the CSP had lost its relevance after the formation of the Communist Party of India. '' Manorama'' is a morning newspaper in Malayalam published from Kottayam, Kerala, India by the Malayala Manorama Company Limited. Currently headed by Mammen Mathew, it was first published as a weekly on 14 March 1888, and currently has a readership of over 8 million (with a circulation base of over 1.9 million copies).
