Route description KY 914 begins at an interchange with the Cumberland Parkway northwest of downtown Somerset in Pulaski County, Kentucky, Pulaski County, heading south as a four-lane divided highway. Most of the highway is within the city limits of Somerset due to annexations made by city government. The road passes through farm fields and comes to an intersection with Kentucky Route 80, KY 80/KY 6014. Lake Cumberland Regional Airport is a public use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) south of the central business district of Somerset, a city in Pulaski County, Kentucky, United States. General Burnside Island State Park
General Burnside Island State Park is a park located just south of Somerset, Kentucky in Pulaski County. The park encompasses in the middle of Lake Cumberland, making it Kentucky's only island park. The park is named for General Ambrose E. Burnside, a Union general during the Civil War who stationed his troops at the location that the park now occupies. Hal Rogers Parkway
The Hal Rogers Parkway, formerly named the Daniel Boone Parkway, is a freeway connecting Somerset and Hazard in southeastern Kentucky. A former toll road, it opened in November 1971, and the tolls were removed June 1, 2003. The original extent of the highway was to be with that mileage to have been included with an unconstructed limited-access London bypass and what is east of this area.
